Abstract:
A method and apparatus for producing continuous web or sliver of milkweed fibers without the use of conventional carding machines is disclosed. The method generally includes feeding raw materials including milkweed fibers into the apparatus, transferring the milkweed fibers to a sliver collecting net, and producing the slivers on the surface of the sliver collecting net. The slivers can be separated from the sliver collecting net.
Abstract:
In a device on a spinning room preparation machine, for example a fiber flock feeder, carding machine, cleaner or the like, for supplying and/or discharging fiber material, a tray-like guide element having a guide surface co-operates with at least one conveyor roll located opposite, the fiber material being guided towards and along the guide surface. In order to provide a simple way of supplying and/or discharging fiber material without undesirable adhesion of fibers, the guide element located opposite the at least one conveyor roll is arranged to be set in vibration by at least one actuator.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for the fiber-sorting or fiber-selection of a fiber bundle comprising textile fibers, especially for combing, fiber is supplied by a supply device to a fiber-sorting device, especially a combing device. Clamping devices clamp the fiber bundle at a distance from its free end, and a mechanical device combs the free end to loosen and remove non-clamped constituents, for example, short fibers, neps, dust and the like. To increase productivity and obtain an improved combed sliver, downstream of the supply device there are at least two rotatably mounted rollers rotating rapidly without interruption, which are provided with the clamping devices, and measured value sensors for detecting values relating to the fibers or machine settings are connected to a control and regulation device, which is arranged to effect actions in dependence on the measured values.

In an apparatus for the fibre-sorting or fibre-selection of a fibre bundle comprising textile fibres, especially for combing, which is supplied to a fibre-sorting device, especially a combing device, having clamping devices which clamp the fibre bundle at a distance from its free end, which is combed to remove non-clamped constituents, the clamping devices each comprise two clamping jaws. To increase productivity and to enable an improved combed sliver to be obtained, downstream of the supply device there are arranged at least two rotatably mounted rollers rotating rapidly without interruption, the clamping devices being spaced apart in the region of the periphery of the rollers, and each clamping device comprising at least one nipper part which is at least partially resilient. The clamping jaws may have a high coefficient of friction in the region of their clamping surfaces.

In an apparatus for the fiber-sorting or fiber-selection of a fiber bundle comprising textile fibers, especially for combing, which is supplied by a supply device to a fiber-sorting device, especially a combing device, having clamping devices, which clamp the fiber bundle at a distance from its free end, for combing to remove non-clamped constituents, at least one take-off device with a sliver-forming element is present, downstream of which is a drafting system. To increase productivity and improve the combed sliver, the fiber-sorting device has at least two rotatably mounted rollers rotating rapidly without interruption, having the clamping devices and between the sliver-forming element and the drafting system the at least one fiber sliver is present in the form of a fiber structure having a width greater than its height, for example, following spreading by a web-spreader.
Abstract:
A fiber tuft feeder includes a first chute; an opening roller supported at the outlet end of the first chute for receiving fiber tufts therefrom; a second chute extending downwardly from the opening roller; a densifying air stream generating arrangement for introducing a densifying air stream into the second chute to compress the fiber tufts therein; and a guide arrangement for orienting the densifying air stream toward the opening roller to combine the densifying air stream with an additional air stream generated by the opening roller by rotation thereof, for aligning the combined air stream in a direction of the second chute and for directing the combined air stream away from the opening roller into the second chute. There is further provided an arrangement for discharging fiber material from the second chute through an outlet thereof.
Abstract:
A feed apparatus for a fibre layer on an opening roll of cards or spinning preparatory machines fed with the fibre layer, wherein a feeder plate together with a feed roll forms a clearance or gap extending from the entrance or mouth of the feeder plate. Immediately upstream of the feeder plate a presser member is arranged to be movable towards the feed roll into a position in which the fibre layer is compressed and at least to a distance essentially corresponding to the width of the clearance or gap at the entrance or mouth of the feeder plate.

Abstract:
A device on a spinning preparation machine, for example a tuft feeder, having a feed device comprising at least one slow-speed feed roller and a counter-element, for example a feed tray, with which fibre material can be supplied to a downstream transport device, has a driven transport element, for example a conveyor belt. In order to provide improved delivery from the feed device, or improved takeover by the downstream transport device, and to allow troublefree operation, for the purpose of determining setting values for the optimum speed of the transport element, a function between the measured values of the feed roller speed and the measured values of the transport speed is so determined that the fibre material lies on the moving surface of the transport element.
