摘要： The fabric transport system comprises a series of fluidly communicating tubes and includes: an intake line configured to receive a fabric piece from the predetermined departure location; a main line fluidly connected at one end with the intake line; a branch line being fluidly connected at its upstream end to an intermediate portion of the main line at a junction; a vacuum source connected with the downstream end of the branch line for drawing air of sufficient quantity and velocity through the intake line, the main line, and the branch line to draw a fabric piece into the intake line and the main line; and a counterflow valve positioned on an intermediate portion of the main line downstream of the junction between the main line and the branch line. The branch line includes a deposit nozzle leading to the predetermined destination. The fabric transport system further includes means, such as an electronic controller, for actuating the counterflow valve to take its open position prior to a fabric piece passing the junction such that air is drawn into the main line and subsequently into the branch line by the vacuum source.

摘要： An apparatus and method for creating an overlock or 504 stitch wherein the excess thread chain (65) extending from the sewing machine needles (19) and the hollow chaining (32) to the previously sewn garment part (60) is stretched and is cut by thread chain cutter (70) to create a leading thread chain of predetermined length extending form the sewing machine needle and the hollow chaining tongue. When cut, the thread chain recoils toward the hollow chaining tongue, and a stream of air draws the free end of the thread chain into the hollow chaining tongue. When the next work piece is moved through the sewing area, the thread chain in the hollow chaining tongue is attached to the work piece and is progressively drawn out of the hollow chaining tongue and oversewn in the overlock stitch.

摘要： A hosiery inspecting, everting, separating and stacking apparatus including a U-shaped, elongated, tubular form axially pivoted adjacent one end for oscillatory movement in a vertical plane between a loading, intermediate inspecting and everting position and a separating and stacking position. Hosiery from a knitting machine is placed on the U-shaped tubular form in the loading position while still in a continuous string. Pulling the hosiery on the form over the open end and bunching the string on the form is facilitated by inducing egress of air during the loading operation. The form containing the hosiery string is moved during each cycle from the inspecting position where everting is performed by vacuum to a separating position where separation is preferably formed by a pulling-off operation with breaking of a knitted connector ring attaching the hose to the string. Grasping fingers of the pulling and stacking apparatus grip the hosiery which is doubled over on itself at the open end of the tube and pull the everted hose from the form to move the same to a stacking station. The reversible air system and the pulling and stacking apparatus is automatically actuated by switches responsive to movement of the tubular form. The switches are mounted adjacent the support bearing and are responsive to a cross bar carried by the vertically oscillating form.

摘要： Packaging apparatus for garments such as pantyhose includes a cylindrical conduit having an entry end and an exit end and spaced apart Venturi air chests on the conduit for establishing a stream of air in the conduit to draw the garment into the conduit at the entry end and accelerate the garment through the conduit and eject the garment into a container at the exit end. A nozzle at the exit end of the conduit has a plurality of apertures or orifices extending through the wall to permit air to exit therefrom to allow the garment to be ejected into the container and maintained therein without being discharged therefrom by the stream of air.

摘要： A hosiery item spreading unit with pneumatic feed, usable with pneumatic hosiery item conveyance systems equipped with a centralized suction, comprising: a structure which forms an elongated spreading chamber arranged with its longitudinal axis substantially horizontal and provided, at its longitudinal ends, respectively with a first opening, connected to a duct for feeding the hosiery item to be spread, and with a second opening, connected to a suction duct which can be connected to suction means; the spreading chamber being closed, in a downward region, by a door which can be opened on command to remove the spread hosiery item and containing also elements for gripping a longitudinal end of the hosiery item which are spaced from the first opening towards the second opening. The spreading unit further comprises an auxiliary duct which connects the hosiery item feed duct to the suction duct and valves which can be actuated on command selectively into first, second and third operating positions, for respectively conveying a hosiery item into the spreading chamber, spreading out and eventually allowing removal of the spread hosiery item.

摘要： Hosiery from a knitting machine is placed on a hollow tubular form while still in a string, the first in-line hose is everted or turned by suction through the open end of the form, the hose is separated from the string and is pulled off the open end of the form and deposited in everted form at a stacking station. The portion of the hose adjacent the open end of the form is doubled over and the pulling-off operation is performed by a pair of grasping fingers engaging the doubled over portion. The separating operation is preferably performed simultaneously with the pulling-off operation by breaking a knitted connector ring attaching the hose to the string. Initially, pulling the hose on the form over the open end and bunching the string on the form is facilitated by inducing egress of air during the pulling-on operation. A rotating roller may also be utilized to facilitate this loading operation. The grasping fingers engage a flattened side of the form to grip the doubled over portion of the hose and a spring loaded over-center linkage operates the fingers. First and second stops actuate the linkage to grip and release, respectively, and first and second bumpers assure operation by momentum action of the linkage means at the extreme travel positions.
