Abstract:
Provided is a fabric that is favorably used for a side cloth of a down wear, a down jacket, a futon, a sleeping bag or some other, and that is light, thin and high in tear strength and can further keep a low air permeability after washed. The high-density fabric of the present invention that can attain the purpose is a fabric including a synthetic fiber that has a fineness of 28 dtex or less, and having a total cover factor ranging from 1700 to 2200. In this fabric, multifilaments are present in each of which monofilaments are arranged in the form of two layers in at least one direction of warp and weft directions. Furthermore, the fabric has a cover factor ranging from 700 to 900 in at least one direction of the warp and weft directions which has the multifilaments present.
Abstract:
Percale weave sheeting has warp yarn and weft yarn. The percale weave sheeting has two surfaces. Both surfaces exhibit color consistency. The warp yarn and the weft yarn are a cross weave of cotton and polyester.
Abstract:
A multi-tier application for interaction with a user interface, such as a browser on a PC or PDA. The application comprises a presentation tier (such as a web server with a JSP/servlet engine) and a business logic tier (such as an application server) to manipulate data for subsequent presentation on the user interface. A direction module has a plurality of coupled directions, including a function direction to direct a corresponding functional component to perform a data processing function using the business logic tier and provide a data processing output, and a presentation direction to direct a corresponding presentation component to incorporate the data processing output, when applicable, into a presentation template to produce a presentation element for the user interface. The function component and presentation component are independent and separate from each other, the connection being the function component produces the data and the presentation component consumes the output data. The presentation component is an abstract representation of a general kind of presentation element, each specific presentation element having its layout and format (such as markup language) stored in a different presentation template, and the reference to a specific presentation template for the presentation component can be determined at processing time in the presentation tier.

Abstract:
A composite for a cover, in particular for a mattress or pillow cover, includes an upper material, a lower material, and a filling thread arranged between the upper material and the lower material. The filling thread is incorporated, when stretched, in a direction transversely to the longitudinal direction of the composite between the upper material and the lower material. Elastic threads run through the composite transversely to the longitudinal direction and define the width of the composite in the slackened state.
Abstract:
There is provided an inflatable mattress and coverlet used to reduce and treat decubitus ulcers. The mattress is an air inflatable mattress and is particularly adapted for use on a bed in a hospital, nursing home, health care facility or the like. The air inflatable mattress has a series of apertures on the top allowing small amounts of air to pass through to the underside of the coverlet. According to one aspect of the invention the coverlet is placed over the top of air inflatable mattress in the central portion thereof between the head of the bed and the foot of the bed. The coverlet is of sufficient length to extend under the weight bearing portions of the patient. The coverlet has as a first layer a moisture wicking fabric, such as a polyester, and on one side of the moisture wicking fabric there is attached a microporous polymeric member which allows air from the mattress to pass through the coverlet to the patient. Adjacent the polymeric member is another layer comprising a spacer fabric. The side edges of the coverlet form a drip edge and may be attached to the mattress by suitable means.

A multi-tier application for interaction with a user interface comprises a presentation tier (e.g. a web server with a JSP/servlet engine) and a business logic tier (e.g. an application server) to manipulate data for subsequent presentation on the user interface. A direction module, such as a requested resource definition, has a plurality presentation and function definitions for accessing a presentation component defined externally to the requested resource definition and the function definition for identifying a function component also defined externally to the requested resource definition. The direction module can have a plurality of coupled directions, including a function direction to direct a corresponding functional component to perform a data processing function and provide a data processing output, and a presentation direction to direct a corresponding presentation component to incorporate the data processing output, when applicable, into a presentation template to produce a presentation element for the user interface.
Abstract:
A fitted mattress cover is provided with a flat top panel and a knitted or woven fabric skirt attached to and depending from the periphery of the top panel. The lower edge of the skirt contains a band of longitudinally extending elastic yarns that were integrally incorporated into the edge during fabrication of the skirt fabric. The yarns of the elastic band provide sufficient tension to pull some of the skirt fabric under the mattress and provide a secure fit when the cover is installed on a mattress.
Abstract:
A multi-layer weft knit fabric for absorbing moisture and wicking it from a first fabric layer to a second layer is described, as well as a method for making the fabric. The multi-layer fabric includes a first hydrophobic layer and a second hydrophilic layer, with the layers being secured together by a series of courses forming spacer yarns which maintain the fabric layers in a spaced relationship relative to each other. The spacer yarns are adapted to wick moisture from the hydrophobic layer to the hydrophilic layer. The spacer yarns are preferably knit-in or laid-in to the respective knit fabric layers, and a plastic water-resistant layer can be secured proximate the hydrophilic fabric layer. A method of integrally knitting the multi-layer fabric on a circular knitting machine is also described.
Abstract:
In order to be able to execute the commercial production of fitted elastic bedsheets from a strip of cloth, markings are applied to the strip of cloth, which determine the attachment points for stretched elastic bands, the transverse cutting lines on the strip of cloth and the seams at the corners of each piece of cloth to be cut from the strip of cloth. The stretched elastic bands are sewn on or in the edges of the strip of cloth, while the strip of cloth is being moved in the lengthwise direction and is held in a flat state. Then individual pieces of cloth are cut from the strip of cloth. The stretched elastic bands then are sewn on or in the two edges of the pieces of cloth being moved transverse to the length of the strip of cloth, which corresponds to the cut edges. With this sewing process, the pieces of cloth are likewise held in a flat state. At this point, the piece of cloth is folded diagonally at each corner, so that the folded cloth segments lie one over the other and the corners adjacent to the edges of cloth pieces are flush. Then the folded cloth segments are sewn together at each corner of the piece of cloth along the markings for the seam and finally the folded cloth piece segments are cut off along each seam with cloth corners to the side. In the process, the stretched elastic bands can advantageously be automatically mechanically connected with the strip of cloth or the pieces of cloth which are already cut off. Thereafter the still required manual work steps are less time-consuming and can be executed simply at a manual sewing site.
