    摘要: An acoustic air impingement drying system is provided for drying a material using a pneumatic transducer unit. An inlet chamber receives air from an airflow source at a supply flow rate. A plurality of acoustic resonant chambers are arranged in a drying zone, each having an inlet slot that receives air from the inlet chamber and an outlet slot that directs air onto the material, the outlet slots being oriented at an oblique angle relative to a width dimension of the pneumatic transducer unit. One or more peripheral exhaust air channels are arranged around the outer boundary of the drying zone for removing the air directed onto the material by the acoustic resonant chambers. A blower pulls air through the exhaust air channels at an exhaust flow rate.

    摘要: A process and an apparatus for removing water from a fibrous web are disclosed. The process comprises providing a fibrous web having a moisture content from about 1% to about 99%; providing an oscillatory flow-reversing impingement gas having a pre-determined frequency; providing a gas-distributing system comprising at least one discharge outlet designed to emit the oscillatory flow-reversing impingement gas onto the web; and impinging the oscillatory flow-reversing gas onto the web through the plurality of discharge outlets, thereby removing moisture from the web. The apparatus comprises a web support designed to receive a fibrous web thereon and to carry it in a machine direction; at least one rotary valve pulse generator designed to produce oscillatory flow-reversing air or gas; and at least one gas-distributing system in fluid communication with the pulse generator for delivering the oscillatory flow-reversing air or gas to the web. The gas-distributing system terminates with at least one discharge outlet juxtaposed with the web support such that the web support and the discharge outlets form an impingement distance therebetween.

    摘要: Ultrasonic frequency sensor/radiators (hereinafter, radiators) are arranged in the vicinity of a material to be treated, on opposite sides of such material, opposite each other. In one embodiment, longitudinal acoustic vibrations are fed to the radiators at the same frequency and the phase difference of the vibrations fed to the different radiators is varied. In another embodiment, the vibrations are fed to the radiators at different frequencies f.sub.1 and f.sub.2 and the frequency difference .DELTA.f of the frequencies, where .DELTA.f=f.sub.1 -f.sub.2, is varied. In each embodiment the most intensive area of the field of vibration combinations in the material to be treated is focused by the radiators in a manner whereby it has an effect upon a desired area of the material.
