    摘要： An improved railroad stub switch is described in which the axial rail tension or compression forces due to temperature fluctuations are transmitted through the switch by means of radius arms connected to both the switch and fixed rails, thereby eliminating the need for expensive expansion joints at the switch. In a preferred embodiment, interlocking point shoes are also employed so as to hold the butt ends in vertical and horizontal register and transmit a signal to the trailing side rail of the impending approach of a load from the approach side rail, thereby reducing batter on the trailing side rail.

    摘要： An article transport facility includes an engaging member capable of being moved to an engaging position at which the engaging member is in engagement with a movable guide portion and with a fixed guide portion to hold the movable guide portion in the guiding position, and to a releasing position at which the engaging member is not in engagement with at least one of the movable guide portion and the fixed guide portion wherein the engaging member supports the movable guide portion from below when in the engaging position; an urging member for urging the engaging member; a holding device for generating an operating force with electric power supplied from an electric power supply to hold the engaging member in the engaging position against an urging force of the urging member; and a power-supply controller for controlling the operation of the electric power supply. The power-supply controller maintains electric power supply in an electric power supplying state while fire information is not outputted from a fire detector and switches the electric power supply to an electric power non-supplying state if fire information is outputted from the fire detector.

The box-like sleeper section member (5) is associated with tip fasteners in the form of "latch fasteners" (33) comprising stationary guides (32) and movable latches (34), cam rods (34) and cam-rod bearings (37), all of which project into the upper part (31) of the box-like sleeper section member (5), whereas the bottom part houses the points-tongue slide rods (54), the tongue-monitoring linkage (45), heating rods (43) if any, and shock-absorbing elements (38). The open part (31) of the box-like sleeper section member (5) is closable on top by releasably mounted covers which can be secured to the bearing flanges (13 and 14) of the box-like sleeper section member (5) of the box sleeper (1).

    摘要： A railroad switch mechanism wherein the switch points of a track switch are moved between normal and release positions by a switch machine connected to the switch points by throw rod, lock rod and detector rod assemblies which are adjusted to have predetermined lengths. The lock or detector rod assemblies have couplings which enable temporary disconnection from the switch points when testing to verify whether the operation of the switch to normal and reverse positions is within an allowable range of variations with respect to the stock rails with which the track switch is associated without affecting the adjustment of the length of the assemblies and requiring long and costly readjustment after the completion of testing.
