摘要： For correction of a track position in connection with ballast cleaning, after cleaned ballast has been returned to a a track, the actual position of the latter is measured while determining actual position data. Parallel to that, fixed point correction values are determined by a sighting trolley following behind. The actual position data and the fixed point correction values are transmitted to the tamping machine, following behind, and are used for determining correction values for a desired track position to be created by tamping.

摘要： A machine for tamping ballast underneath a railroad track includes a machine frame extending in a longitudinal direction and supported on the track by undercarriages for mobility in an operating direction. A tamping unit and a track lifting and lining unit cooperate with one another and are mounted on the machine frame. A suction apparatus is provided for aspirating ballast and includes a suction line connected to a ballast suction nozzle which is associated with the tamping unit. Drives are provided for adjusting the ballast suction nozzle vertically and transversely to the longitudinal direction. A ballast plow is mounted on the machine frame, and a discharge chute is provided for ejecting ballast onto the track. In this manner, short sections of track exhibiting inferior ballast conditions can be ballasted and tamped.

A reference system for controlling the position of the working unit is arranged on the leading frame part and consists of a reference line extending in the longitudinal direction between two of said undercarriages, a measuring axle designed to roll on the track, and a measuring device connected to the measuring axle for detecting a movement, transversely to the longitudinal direction, of the measuring axle relative to the reference line. An angle-measuring device is provided for detecting an actual frame angle enclosed by the leading and the trailing frame part.

摘要： A dust suppression system is particularly designed for the control of dust generated by a self-propelled, on-site, shoulder ballast cleaning machine. The shoulder ballast cleaning machine scoops up the stone ballast of a railroad track bed, separates the ballast from dirt and debris, and replaces the ballast along the shoulder of the track bed. The dust suppression system includes a main pressure line extending along the length of the shoulder ballast cleaning machine, and a plurality of branch lines connecting the main line to spray assemblies positioned on the shoulder ballast cleaning machine at areas of primary dust generation. The various assemblies provide a liquid spray pattern to moisten the air borne dust and debris, neutralizing the static electricity charge of the dust and debris, and/or increasing the particulate weight, and causing the dust and debris to rapidly settle. Each branch distribution line includes a filter, a globe valve for adjusting the flow of water to each individual spray assembly, and a remotely actuated solenoid for selectively connecting and disconnecting the branch line to the main line.

摘要： In a train of like freight cars used, for instance, for removing rubble from a ballast cleaning machine, each car comprises a storage bin defining a top opening delimited by two end edges. A conveyor means having two ends bridges the top opening in the direction of track elongation. The conveyor means has a plurality of conveyor portions including an endless conveyor band mounted for traveling in a conveying path extending in this direction. The endless conveyor band is driven in this path in reversible directions, and at least some of the conveyor portions are mounted for movement so that a selected conveyor means end projects beyond a respective end edge and into overlapping relationship with an adjacent end of one of the conveyor means ends of an adjacent freight car.
