摘要： An expansion joint strip seal for use between spaced apart ends of sections of a highway, bridge, or the like, the strip seal having an elongate metallic rail with a C-shaped cavity therein embedded in the end of one of the sections, a second elongate metallic rail with a reverse C-shaped cavity therein embedded in the end of an adjacent section, and an elastomeric, elongate membrane having ear portions extending along its opposed edges, each of the ear portions being sealingly engaged by one of the metallic rails. The membrane, which is formed integrally in a single piece, has a central web portion, which is generally V-shaped in cross section, and each ear portion has an enlarged end portion and a transitional portion between the enlarged end portion and the central web portion. The transitional portion has upper and lower planar surfaces which sealingly engage planar sealing surfaces of an entrance of each metallic rail that engages such ear portion. The entrance of the metallic rail leads into the cavity therein and the end portion of the membrane is engaged in the cavity. The end portion of the membrane is provided with spaced apart upper and lower voids to facilitate the compressing of the end portion to thereby facilitate its insertion into the cavity of the rail.

摘要： A gasket for a flush expansion joint cover comprises a longitudinally continuous central body portion and two longitudinally continuous side portions, one at either transverse edge of the central body portion. The central body portions and the side portions are comprised of a colorable thermoplastic rubber and are co-extruded to form an integral gasket structure. The side portions, which are adapted to keylock with mating grooves in structural members of the expansion joint cover, are harder than the central body portion to enhance retention of the gasket in place during use. The central body portion has a cellular core structure and a slightly concave upper surface to remain substantially smooth and flush with adjacent surfaces throughout the complete movement cycle of the expansion joint.

摘要： An expansion joint seal for use in roadways, bridges and the like adapted for use with a pair of elongated, parallel spaced-apart edge members defining a gap therebetween and each of the edge members having a generally C-shaped cavity opening towards said gap. The seal includes mounting beads on each of its longitudinal edges for reception within the aforesaid edge member cavities and a double walled, resilient web construction spanning the aforesaid gap and being attached to the mounting beads. The double walls of the web are disposed in an upper and lower relative relationship to one another and are connected to the mounting beads at correspondindly upper and lower portions thereon. The upper and lower web walls fold downwardly upon movement of the edge members towards one another and corresponding reduction in width of the gap. The upper and lower walls are connected to one another by a pair of downwardly extending struts which cause the upper and lower walls to fold in a desired manner while also providing additional strength to the configuration. The upper wall is surmounted by an inverted, V-shaped crown which folds upwardly away from the downwardly folding upper wall upon compression of the seal. The upwardly folding crown portion thereby functions to eject incompressibles out of the gap and/or to preclude the disposition of incompressibles in the gap.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a joint-edge element for expansion joints in roadways wherein the anchoring parts, that extend in the longitudinal direction of the joint, just as the remaining parts of the joint-edge profiled element, are joined in one piece to the joint-edge element. At least one profiled part of the joint-edge element is produced by dividing the double profiled element in two profiled halves. Joint-edge elements having the double length of the particular extrusion casting or rolled element are produced through a single operation of extrusion or rolling.A particularly expedient embodiment is produced in such a manner that the anchoring parts are formed by parting a connecting portion of the double profiled element. The parting operation can be performed without considering the precision of manufacture, with relatively low expenditure.A secure holding and a perfect embedding in the concrete under-structure can be obtained in such a manner that the anchoring parts are produced through the parting operation effected along a line extending in the longitudinal direction of the joint and effecting a serration-type reciprocal meshing of the two halves of the connecting part. The line can here be undulated, dented or provided with another regular or irregular curvature. The serration type gaps permit one to obtain a perfect concrete work, since no cavities have to be filled.

摘要： An expansion jointing material for placing concrete, mortar or the like which comprises a jointing material of elastic substance and a cover member placed over the jointing material and extending in the longitudinal direction thereof. In operation, a plurality of the jointing materials are preliminarily positioned and adjusted to a predetermined height along the partition lines to form a plurality of partitions into which concrete, mortar or the like is deposited to produce laid surfaces of concrete or the like using the upper portions of the cover members as the reference levels. The jointing materials are completely buried in the concrete, mortar or the like except the upper portions of the cover members to absorb or compensate for the expansion or contraction of the concrete, mortar or the like.
