    摘要: A water ballast for a compactor is disclosed. A ballast tank is installed under a cover plate having a plurality of holes. Through the holes of the cover plate, water falling onto the cover plate drains into the ballast tank. The edges all around the cover plate are slightly angled upwards in order to prevent water from draining out of the cover plate. Also, the water ballast has a ballast drain port on the compactor's frame. The ballast drain port is connected with a drain hole on the ballast tank by a drain hose so that it is used to drain out some water from the ballast tank.

    摘要: A curb forming machine for use by a single operator to form curved curbing includes a single rotatable curb-forming roller, a handle assembly for pulling and maneuvering the roller, and a motor for rotating the roller. The roller includes a generally cylindrical body, a neck at one end of the body, and a shaping surface, all of which are coaxial. The motor rotates the roller so that the lower periphery of the roller moves toward the direction of pulling to shape and smooth wet concrete into curbing. An overflow guard prevents wet concrete from flowing over the roller onto the finished curb, and an alignment device extends outwardly from the roller to contact a form member. A curb forming method includes pulling and steering such a roller around a curved form, including around tight curves in the form.

    摘要: A vibratory roller is journalled from a frame portion of a vehicle of the compaction-type an the roller includes a generally cylindrical outer face. A plurality of circumferentially extending lug bands are carried by the roller outer surface and are disposed in laterally spaced zones of the outer face spaced longitudinally of the roller and in which diametric planes of the roller lie. The lug bands are comprised of lugs including outer surfaces disposed at least substantially normal to intersecting radii of the roller and generated about the axis of rotation of the roller. The outer surfaces are at least substantially circumferentially continuous about the roller and extend in zig zag paths contained in the aforementioned zones. The lateral spacing between adjacent zones defines circumferentially continuous paths of the outer roller face which are free of the lug bands and scraper members are carried by the frame portion and disposed in at least closely spaced relation to the face of scraping accumulated debris from the aforementioned paths. The lugs are generally hexagonal in transverse cross section and are welded to the outer face of the roller with the welding operation being performed to create fillets on opposite sides of the lugs forming downward and outward inclined continuations of the inclined side surfaces of the lugs intersecting the outer surfaces thereof.
