Abstract: A bridge paving machine and method for paving a 3D design without vertical profile rails includes converting a desired design into a 3D surface model to account for certain factors known to cause deviations in the paving processes and paving the 3D surface model in the expectation that factors will cause the 3D surface model to deflect into the desired design. An on-board computer system adjusts the 3D surface model in real-time to correct for on-site variables. The on-board computer system receives data from various external sensors, including deflection sensors fixed to girders in the bride structure, and paving machine-based sensors, and uses various predictive models to predict surface deflection based on the sensor data. The 3D surface model is continuously updated based on the predictive models and actual measured deflections.

The following steps are performed using a curve correction unit: determining a value defining a steering angle of the road paver; calculating based on the determined value an expected offset of the paving screed, which results from a yawing movement of the road paver during steering with the steering angle defined by the determined value; and automatically correcting a lateral extension position of at least one lateral extension part of the paving screed based on the expected offset, so that the offset is compensated.

Abstract: A method for screeding of an uncured concrete surface includes providing a screeding machine and a control. The control may generate an output indicative of the estimated flatness or levelness or quality of the surface, and/or a display may display information associated with the estimated flatness or levelness or quality of the surface.

Abstract: A screed assembly for a paving machine includes a main screed unit having a first section and a second section.
