    摘要： A single drum skimmer and a weir skimmer for recovering all types of oil from a surface of a body of water. An aluminum, high density polyethylene lined drum, floated by adjustable pontoons is rotated clockwise by a hydraulic drive motor, thus drawing the oil layer on top of the water, under and up over the drum to a high density polyethylene scraper blade where it is scraped off into a collection box. The oil runs to the corners of a collection box where it is suctioned off through suction hoses to a camlock "tee" fitting. The oil travels through a main suction hose to a peristaltic master pump which provides suction and discharge of oil from the skimmer to a vacuum dehydrator. An open topped, adjustable reservoir/weir collector has an opening in the front panel which may be opened for weir skimming, and closed for drum skimming.

    摘要： An apparatus for the removal of oil from large bodies of water, such as oceans. A rotating drum, whose surface is composed of a steel mesh, retrieves oil off the surface of water. An adjustable vacuum is created within the rotating drum, causing contaminated water to pass through and oil to adhere to the steel mesh of the drum. The drum transports the oil to a collection point, where a high pressure water stream from within the drum works in conjunction with a squeegee on the drum surface to remove the oil layer from the mesh. Through the use of Archimedean screws, the oil is then transported up to the collection ship to which the apparatus is attached. Unique rake tines prevent solid debris, such as seaweed, from contacting the drum and subsequently clogging the system. The configuration of the apparatus provides for the connection of several recovery drums side by side, thus expediting the collection and removal of large oil spills.

    摘要： A dual drum skimmer is provided for the removal and recovery of oil floating on water. The skimmer includes two oil pick-up drums arranged along a common axis which pick up oil and deposit it in a collection trough. Oil deposited in the collection trough is directed to a reservoir trough arranged on the opposite side of the drums from the collection trough. The drums are formed as hollow, closed cylinders and, together with the reservoir trough, provide the total buoyancy necessary to float the skimmer. The skimmer is particularly effective in shallow and in trash laden water and can operate in water depths of as little as three inches.
