摘要: A liquid retaining barrier comprises a plurality of vertically stacked members, each member having first and second ends, a length between the first and second ends, first and second sides, and top and bottom faces. An outer shell extends around a perimeter formed by the first and second sides and first and second faces of the member, and defines an inner core space. A conduit comprising a compression reinforcement material is positioned in the inner core space and forms an approximately parabolic curve extending between the first and second ends. A side of the outer shell is tangent to the curve of the conduit at about the mid-point of the length of the member.

摘要: An opening/closing device according to the present invention includes a gate, a fall prevention unit, a support release unit, a first float, a floating prevention unit, a second float, and a floating prevention release unit. The gate receives a flow of fluid, and is able to fall down toward a downstream direction of the flow. The fall prevention unit supports the gate, thereby preventing the gate from falling down. The support release unit releases the support for the gate by the fall prevention unit. The first float is arranged on an upstream side of the gate, is arranged on one of the left side and the right side of the gate viewed from upstream, and is less in the specific gravity than the fluid. The floating prevention unit prevents the first float from floating.

摘要: A gate is provided with a barrier capable of retaining water with a central barrier wall that is inclined in a direction away from the water, a bottom structure beneath the water that is capable of delimiting by a weir a bottom chamber filled with air and holding the barrier in its water retaining position by the water pressure exercised on said bottom structure, and an inlet extending beyond the retaining level of the barrier with an upper opening that allows water to flood the bottom chamber so as to offset the water pressure on the bottom structure and thereby allow a tipping of the gate, wherein a wall structure forms a wall chamber on the central barrier wall, wherein the wall chamber is capable of being flooded so as to assist the tipping of the gate.

摘要: Provided is a water blocking board apparatus which can improve reliability of the operation of a water blocking board, the apparatus having: a water blocking board configured to ascend from a road surface to block water; a water blocking board accommodating pit formed under the road surface so as to accommodate the board; a water collecting pit configured to let water to flow thereinto upon flooding; a water collecting bucket which accumulates water having flown into the water collecting pit and is configured to descend in the water collecting pit by the weight of the accumulated water; and a transmission mechanism which connects the board and the bucket and converts a descending force of the bucket into an ascending force of the board, at least one of the mechanism and the bucket being provided with a device for inhibiting inclination of the bucket.

摘要: A self-actuating flood guard for a construction holds a buoyant gate at an elevation spaced from ground between flanking spaced vertical boundary walls adapted for connection to the construction. The gate is pivotable on pivotation members about a horizontal axis normal to the boundary walls for buoyant rotation upwardly between the boundary walls on rise of water above the elevation. Optionally, flexible lip seal gaskets along the sides of the gate sealingly wipe the boundary walls, and a flexible strip gasket across the pivotation members along the base of the gate prevents passage of water between the base of the gate and the construction. A restraint acts on the gate to prevent the gate from rotating about the axis more than a predetermined extent when the gate is pivoted upwardly above said elevation.

摘要: A flood defense apparatus including a channel 10 having a base 12 and side walls 14, 16 extending downwardly from a surface level opening 36 to the base 12 so as to be adapted to collect and transfer surface liquid, a channel dividing formation 18 extending generally downwardly from the opening of the channel towards but not to the base, so as to divide the channel into a drainage portion 20 open for the access flow of surface liquid and a chamber portion 22 and to define a liquid communicating portion 24 between the drainage portion and the chamber portion below the dividing formation, and at least one buoyant barrier member 26 received in the chamber portion to be selectively moveable between a first position within the channel and a second position where the barrier member at least partially extends from the channel. The level of liquid in the drainage portion follows the level of liquid in the chamber portion to allow, in use, varying levels of liquid in the channel to move the barrier member reversibly between the first position and the second position.
