    摘要: A system and method to create or elevate a berm of a liquid retention facility by placement of lightweight fill material anchored by an impervious liner material(s). The impervious liner material is integral to a water retention system such as a containment system of a retention pond. The system and method can also be used to elevate the liquid retention height of a levee in combination with impervious liner retention material. By constructing the berm system on an existing levee, the effective height of the levee can be increased. The lightweight fill material provides the shape of the berm or levee extension. The liquid impervious liner material provides a watertight surface, the media for joining of the lightweight fill material, and the anchoring of the lightweight fill material to the existing berm or levee structure.

    摘要: A polymer injection method and apparatus for blocking piping in dikes and dams, uses non-water reacted two-component polymeric material to produce a hydra-insensitive expanding polymer for blocking piping channel. A transferring device is provided to the method, which includes an injection gun, an injector, and a hollow tube, wherein the injection gun connects with an entrance end of the hollow tube through the injector, and an outlet end of the hollow tube inserts into the entrance of the piping channel. The two components of the polymeric material are respectively transported to the injection gun, and are mixed and injected from the gun with high pressure, through the injector, to the hollow tube, and then pushed into the piping channel. Under the chemical reaction, the mixed material expands inside the receiver and becomes foamed solid from liquid, and then the polymer receiver inflates and blocks the piping channel quickly.

    摘要: The invention comprises frame members for use as a portable dam. Each frame structure is comprised of a support beam, a base beam and at least one brace beam connected together in pivoting relationship so that the beams may be folded down together for quick assembly and disassembly. The collapsed beams are configured to lie parallel to each other in a folded arrangement to permit efficiency in stacking multiple units together for storage and transportation. The erected frame structures are connected to each other and held in a spaced relationship through the use of couplers that are adapted to slide over the ends of the beams forming the frame structures. The individual frame structures may be erected in place in the water, or a section comprising several connected frame structures may be pre-fabricated and lifted and placed as a unit in the water. A stiffener member is affixed to adjacent frame structures to hold them together in rigid relationship. A foot assembly for providing stability and distribution of the downward pressure caused by the dammed water may be provided with each frame structure.

    摘要: A portable levee system includes a bag having a preselected geometric shape. The bag is continuous in that it has a length at least equal to its width, and is preferably many times as long. A top portion of the bag is open for receiving nutrient rich dirt. A preferred geometric shape is a trapezoid. The bags preferably have a soaker hose extending through an end and over a plurality of lateral webs within the bag. The bags may be filled with dirt and crops planted therein. The soaker hose may be attached to a pump and water source to provide water to the crops. A plurality of bags may be linearly aligned in order to form a plurality of rows of crops.

    摘要: A portable levee system includes a bag having a preselected geometric shape. The bag is continuous in that it has a length at least equal to its width, and is preferably many times as long. A top portion of the bag is open for receiving fill material. A preferred geometric shape is a trapezoid. The bag is removably mounted to a dispenser and the dispenser dispenses the bag from a rear portion of the dispenser. A preferred dispenser is towed behind a tractor or truck and the bag is filled within the dispenser and deposited onto the ground. A method of providing a portable levee is taught wherein a levee is created in a fraction of the time required to build an equivalently-sized levee utilizing current emergency levee construction systems.

    摘要: A movable tsunami buffer dam has a unit configured such that a plurality of separate units, each of which having a shape in which a frame made of a light material is sandwiched by a pair of plates made of a light material, is stacked with said plates disposed in a pile; and a locking member for locking said unit to a ground surface such that said unit can rise up from said ground surface and collapse onto said ground surface. The separate units has a structure in which water from a tsunami can advance into a space formed between said plates by said frame.A required thickness is ensured due to said unit being configured such that said separate units are stacked, and the manufacturing cost is reduced to a greater extent than in the case of a dam configured from a single separate unit of said required thickness, because the big size lumber for obtaining the units is very expensive. The unit is installed in a state of being collapsed on said ground surface at normal times, and when a tsunami arrives, said unit rising up due to the force of the tsunami and the buoyancy of the seawater, resisting the passage of the tsunami and reducing the power of the tsunami.
