摘要： A freestanding privacy screen comprises a plurality of like panels shaped to be positioned in a side-by-side relationship. Each panel includes a frame on which an insert panel can be mounted, and hollow side members or uprights. A pair of hinge rods are positioned in the hollow uprights of the frame for axial rotation therein, and have first key members positioned adjacent opposite ends thereof. Panel connectors interconnect adjacent panels in a mutually vertically aligned relationship. Each panel connector has a two-part body construction interconnected by a removable fastener to capture associated end portions of adjacent hinge rods therebetween. The connectors have second key members that mate with the first key members on the hinge rod ends which rotationally interconnect adjacent hinge rods, such that when the privacy screen panels are pivoted, the hinge rods retain adjacent panels in their vertically aligned relationship.

The elongated body defines longitudinally extending inserting channels extending from one end to an intermediate portion. Once inserted into pipes, the two pieces are urged apart by a screw to lock the fitting in the pipes. A second two-piece fitting may be attached via its engagement with an inserting channel. The second fitting has a portion insertable into a pipe and may be clamped within the pipes and to the first fitting by a screw urging apart the two pieces of the second fitting.

摘要： A sound and visual partition screen panel utilizes a treated corrugated cardboard septum to which is secured a frame. Acoustic insulation pads are provided on each side of the septum within the frame. The frame is designed with rounded vertical and top edges which are adapted to receive a fabric covering in the form of a sewn sock or sleeve which includes seams with inwardly formed welts adapted to be threaded into recesses in the verticals which open to the edges of the panels through a very narrow slot. The top and bottom of each vertical is provided with a removable pin, the one on the bottom also adjustably supporting the panel, which pins in turn secure plastic blocks having semi-circular gear segments, the gear teeth projecting just beyond the rounded surface of the verticals. The gear teeth extend for only slightly less than one half the height of the semi-circular face of the block. The blocks may be inverted by removing and replacing the pins. This presents the gear teeth at selected elevations to enable the formation of two, three or four way inter-panel connections. The gearing only at the same elevation will be in mesh enabling synchronous non-binding pivoting of the interconnected panels. A link through which the pins of adjacent panels extend holds the gearing in mesh. The top pin may be in the form of a clamp screw to lock the links in place. The panels, in addition to being interconnected, may be connected to walls, storage or filing cabinets, or when dividing work stations, to a power column with an ambient light serving those work stations. The power columns with panels attached form a low cost office layout.

A panel frame having a rectangular or another polygonal shape is assembled from tubular members that are interconnected together with corner members which lock the tubular members to form a rigid frame. A panel of suitable dimensions is then positioned within the frame, and the panel is held in place by retaining members which removably fit over the frame and secure the panel in place. Panel members of various standard or nonstandard sizes and configurations may be accommodated within corresponding frames.

Two vertical caps of semi-circular cross section are attached to the edges of the vertical side members, extending from top to bottom. Lock connecting means are located at the semi-circular center of the two vertical caps at the top and bottom, and the unit is supported by a pair of legs.

Alternatively, a linkage can be included inside each of the wall panels and used to swivel the swivel wheel mechanism out toward a position that is perpendicular to the plane of the wall panel.

The hinge has two opposing couplers, each having a toothed semicircular portion meshed with the opposing coupler toothed semicircular portion. Each coupler is adapted to be connected to one of the members to be pivoted with respect to each other. A pin is in each coupler extending along an axis of the semicircular portion thereof. A link connects each pin to maintain the meshed engagement of the couplers through 360null of coupler pivotal rotation with respect to each other. The link has a sufficient width substantially that of the width of the coupler body as to block and prevent the meshed semicircular portions from pinching an individual's finger or object. The hinge may also have a locking mechanism or detent which locks the two members at 180null from each other.
