摘要： Methods and systems for training a broad population of learners in the field of robotics and automation technology based on physical interactions with a robotic training system are described herein. Specifically, a robotic instructor provides audio-visual instruction and physically interacts with human learners to effectively teach robotics and automation concepts and evaluate learner understanding of those concepts. In some examples, a training robot instructs and demonstrates encoder operation, feedback control, and robot motion coordination with external objects and events while physically interacting with a human learner. In some examples, interlock logic and waypoints of the training robot are programmed by the human user while the training robot physically interacts with the human learner. In a further aspect, a training robot evaluates the proficiency of a human learner with respect to particular robotic concepts. Future instruction by the training robot is determined in part by the measured proficiency.

摘要： A computer-implemented method teaches a user to evaluate a gemstone, such as a cut diamond. The method includes providing a computer system connected to an apparatus capable of capturing an image of a gemstone. The computer system is arranged to process a received image of a gemstone to determine one or more optical properties of the gemstone. In one aspect, the method presents on a display of the computer system a series of pre-stored screens comprising a graphical representation how the cut of a gemstone affects its light handling ability, and a user interface screen. The user interface screen allows the user to control the operation of the apparatus to measure the one or more optical properties of a particular gemstone provided to the apparatus, to view an image of the gemstone measured, and to view representations of the measured one or more optical properties.

摘要： This invention involves a balance scale with a base, a balance arm support, a balance arm, a pointer, and a movable label plate containing descriptions. The balance arm has a tray on each end, where one tray holds an article representing mankind with sin, and the other tray holds an article representing the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. The articles on each tray are of equal or approximately equal weight. The scale rotates when the weight of the articles are added to or removed from the trays, and the scale rotation will determine which description the pointer will point to. This invention can be used as a Christian teaching aid showing the benefit of choosing to accept the death of Christ as payment in full for our sins, along with showing the consequence of our refusal to accept the death of Christ as payment for our sins.

The demonstration kit may feature an amplifier that is configurable to accommodate various hardware additions as a child is ready for more progressively challenging construction. For example, the amplifier of an embodiment allows single and dual mode operation, as well as drives a rotary motor and is coordinated with a strobe light. The amplifier of an embodiment is synchronized with the strobe light and a moveable platform to create the impression of that jiggling figures attached to the table are dancing. Interfaces with smart phone, recording, and other technologies further enhances and encourages the learning experience.
