Interior flanges can comprise attachment holes for affixing the interior flanges to box-frame-segments having square-cut edges. Box-frame-segments and box-frame-segment attachments with square-cut edges can abut the exterior surface of a post sleeve side wall. Use of the post sleeve can reduce or eliminate the need to produce beveled joints box-frame-segments and box-frame-segment attachments. Post sleeves can comprise a post sleeve extension extending above box-frame-segments that attach to the flanges of the post sleeve. The post sleeve and post sleeve extension can comprise a single metal extrusion. Alternatively, the post sleeve extension can be attached to the post sleeve. In one example, a post sleeve extender is placed into a post sleeve and the post sleeve extension is placed onto the post sleeve extender.

摘要： Various embodiments related to a tree guard are disclosed. One embodiment provides an L shaped breakaway bracket for use with a modular tree guard assembly. The L shaped breakaway bracket includes a horizontal member extending substantially perpendicularly from a vertical member, wherein the vertical member is thinner and longer than the horizontal member. At least one fastener hole is provided in the horizontal member for receiving a fastener for securing the horizontal member to a rail. At least one fastener hole is provided in the vertical member for receiving a fastener for securing the vertical member to a post. The breakaway bracket is adapted to break along the intersection of the horizontal member and the vertical member and separate the rail from the post when a force that would otherwise be sufficient to deform the rail is applied to the rail.

In particular the invention allows for a handrail to be assembled without the need for a skilled craftsman to determine angles, such that upper and lower rails remain at an even or predetermined distance from the ground even when the rail is positioned on an inclined surface such as a ramp or stairs. A rail receiving unit is provided which has an inner housing (23) within an outer housing (21), the inner housing being adapted to receive a rail and be pivotable about an axis in relation to the outer housing such that the angle at which the rail is received into the receiving unit is variable. A preferred embodiment allows the inner housing to be both pivotable and rotatable in relation to the outer housing, providing further flexibility to the user.

摘要： A hidden rail fastener connection system utilizes open-ended top and bottom rail supports, each support having a bottom floor and upstanding side walls. An open-ended channel extends the length of each side wall and two or more open-ended channels extend the length of each bottom floor. Specially designed brackets are secured to the ends of the rail supports. The brackets have a set of openings aligned with the ends of the channels for the insertion of fasteners through the openings and into the channels and another set of openings for the insertion of fasteners into the vertical structures to which the rail and baluster system is to be attached. Top and bottom rail members are provided to enclose the rail supports and cover all fasteners.
