摘要: A support post comprising first and second elongate members, a ceiling engaging member at the upper end of the first elongate member and a floor engaging member at the lower end of the second elongate member. A spring biases the ceiling engaging member away from the upper end of the first elongate member. A lock maintains the spring in a compressed configuration. When in its unlocked position the lock releases the spring and permits it to apply a biasing force to the ceiling engaging member, urging the ceiling engaging member away from the upper end of the first elongate member. A latch is secured to the first elongate member and permits telescopic movement between the elongate members when said lock is in its locked position. The latch engages the second elongate member when the lock is in its unlocked position and resists relative telescopic movement between the elongate members.

摘要: A support post and safety fence assembly in which the post has a telescoping inner and outer tube and is supported on a threaded internal shaft coupled to a floor engaging end and ceiling engaging end preferably formed with claws that have a number of sharp penetrating points for firm engagement with a support surface. In one embodiment, a gravity lock assembly is provided for fixing the relative position of the inner and outer tubes. Dynamic adjustability of the support post is provided by internal compression springs.

摘要: The present invention relates to roof edge fall protection devices typically installed at or near such parapet walls. The apparatus of the present invention comprises several components that can be easily assembled and disassembled on site and which are adaptable to various building geometries. The apparatus comprises at least two support members, each comprised of a roof mounting portion including a first base plate member that is securely mountable on the roof of the building structure and a second base plate member that is securely and removably mountable on the wall of the building structure. A side edge portion of the first base plate member is positioned substantially adjacent to the wall. A top edge portion of the second base plate member securely and removably engages the side edge portion of the roof base plate member. A barrier mounting portion including a substantially upright post member securely engages the roof mounting portion, and a barrier holding member securely engages the post member. An elongate safety barrier member securely and removably engages each barrier holding member, with the safety barrier member securely extending between at least two support members.

摘要: A safety fence system provides a quick and easy way to attach, adjust, move, and remove safety railings at a construction site. The safety fence system is completely reusable and includes a plurality of fence post brackets and a plurality of fence panels. The fence post brackets each connect to a concrete slab or other floor of a building under construction by a C-shaped clamp member. The fence panels, such as chain link fence panels, are easily connected to the fence post brackets by slipping tubular end posts of the fence panels over short pipes on the clamp member.

摘要: A safety fence for a square hatched formed in a slab of a building is provided. The fence has lids pivotable about opposed sides of the hatch, and has such a size that about half of the opening of the hatch is closed by each of the lids. Side frames having a predetermined height are pivotable about opposed sides of the hatch. A plurality of gear mechanisms is provided, with each mechanism comprising a first gear and a second gear in mesh with each other, a first shaft supporting the first gear, a second shaft supporting the second gear, the first and second shafts extending parallel to the opposed ends of the hatch, the first gears being secured to lower ends of the lids, and counterweights mounted to one of the second shafts. The safety fence is set up by erecting the lids and the side frames. A plurality of brackets each having a pair of bracket portions secured to the inner wall of the hatch. The pairs of bracket portions are provided on each side of each of the gear mechanisms and support the first and second shafts supporting the first and second gears.

摘要: A temporary safety guardrail for construction sites is provided. The guardrail includes specially designed anchoring members configured to accept removable posts which vertically extend from each anchoring member. On top of each posts, a guardrail is provided in two versions, a fixed length handrail or a telescopic handrail. Either handrail is connected directly to a fixed bracket, or indirectly by way of one or more orientable bracket so that the guardrail can be oriented to different angles so as to follow the building's contour, such as going up and down staircases or doing corners.
