摘要： A reusable fence post for supporting roll-up safety fencing comprises an elongated hollow post having an outside V-angle disposed along a first exterior side of the hollow post; a stake extending downward from a built-in sliding hammer for installing the reusable fence post in the ground without tools; and an elongated jaw member having an inside V-angle hinged at the lower end of the hollow post. The elongated jaw member swings away from the hollow post to receive the plastic fencing and swings toward the hollow post to be latched to the hollow post and held between inside and outside V-angle clamping surfaces, thereby securely clamping the safety fencing to prevent it from slipping either lengthwise or across the width of the fencing. In an alternate embodiment, the outside V-angle serves as the fence post; and the stake, having a cap at its upper end, slides within pipe sections attached to the post.

摘要： The present invention is an improved construction perimeter guard stanchion. A dual adjustment system performs both coarse and fine adjustments to tightly clamp a pair of jaws at the lower end of the stanchion upon the edge of a floor slab in an elevated, unfinished building structure. A coarse jaw adjustment sleeve formed of a short section of hollow steel tubing is coaxially disposed about an outboard support member in sliding engagement therewith. The coarse adjustment sleeve has one or more perforations therethrough so that a locking pin can be passed through it and through aligned openings in the outboard support member. A fine adjustment screw member is disposed coaxially within a vertical rail support tube and may be rotated by lever arms to move the upper jaw closer to or further from the lower jaw. Adjustment of the fine positioning mechanism is performed by manipulating handles at the top of the vertical rail support tube. A workman installing the stanchion thereby does not have to stoop over to operate a clamp located down near the concrete slab.

摘要： A safety rail system for installation about the perimeter of a rooftop work site comprises a plurality of stanchion-supporting bases for attachment to existing building structure, a plurality of stanchions removably held by the bases and having cable-receiving links thereon, and a pair of wire rope cable safety rails supplied by a pair of winches fixed to at least one of the stanchions. The bases include a pair of plate members connected by a hinge for adjustable attachment to a vertical wall surface of the building and another structural surface forming an edge with the vertical wall surface. A vertically extending sleeve is fixed to the plate member which attaches to the vertical wall surface of the building for slidably receiving a bottom portion of a stanchion, and a transversely extending locking pin is used to retain the bottom portion of the stanchion within the sleeve. The safety rail cables are unwound from their respective winches and connected to the stanchions using the cable receiving links, then tensioned using the winches.

摘要： The present invention relates to a temporary rail structure that includes a series of vertical posts that are interconnected by horizontally extending side rails. Each post is designed to clamp around the top portion of a band that extends around floor joist that support a sub-floor thereabove. Around the entire floor structure is formed a series of spaced apart openings, each opening cut in the sub-floor adjacent the inside of the band. Each temporary post includes a U-shaped yoke that includes one leg that is inserted downwardly through the opening formed in the sub-floor such that this leg extends adjacent the inside of the band. A screw-type tightener is secured to another leg of the yoke and is screwed from the outside so as to tighten down on the band.
