Abstract:
A window operator mountable on the frame of window having a hinged movable sash including a drive assembly for positioning the movable sash and a separately installable drive shaft for operating the drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a drive chain coupled to the movable sash of the window that extends and retracts to position the movable sash. The drive assembly can be mounted to the frame first without the drive shaft. After the window is installed, the drive shaft can be then inserted into the drive assembly and used to extend and retract the drive chain and move the movable sash. The window operator includes a drive shaft retention assembly for receiving and retaining the drive shaft once the drive shaft is inserted into the drive assembly.
Abstract:
A link structure of a power tailgate is disclosed in which the links opening and closing the tailgate move perpendicularly in relation to the rotational direction of the driving motor, thereby preventing an overload of the motor. Accordingly, a small capacity motor may be used for reducing the weight and raw material cost thereof. Further, as the orientation of the links is in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, a compact link construction is provided. Such the structure includes a rack gear meshing with a driving gear of the motor, and a multi-joint link connected at both ends thereof to the rack gear and tailgate, respectively. The multi-joint link is constituted by a plurality of link members relatively and pivotally connected to each other by means of pins.
Abstract:
Rain sensor arrangement for an operator for a window, said window comprising a frame, a sash pivotable with respect to said frame, and a pane mounted in said sash. The operator is adapted for pivoting said sash between a closed and an open position and vice versa, and said operator is controlled via a control circuitry responsive to input signals from at least a rain sensor. The rain sensor has at least one sensing area arranged so as to be protected against rain by said window, when the sash is in the closed position.
Abstract:
A power window assembly in a vehicle includes first and second slidable window panes mounted to the vehicle for movement in opposing lateral directions towards each other to a closed position and away from each other to an open position. A first pair of connector arms is operatively connected to the first window pane and a second pair of connector arms is operatively connected to the second window pane. A power drive mechanism engages the connector arms and selectively pulls one of the connector arms of the first pair and one of the connector arms of the second pair away from each other to pull the window panes towards the open position and selectively pulls the other of the connector arms of the first pair and the other of the connector arms of the second pair towards each other for pulling the window panes towards the closed position.
Abstract:
In a power-assisted chain drive actuator for opening and closing gating fixtures, a drive chain has successive links formed of pairs of plates being parallel and swivel connected to each other by crosswise studs having an increased middle diameter holding the plates apart; the chain is also provided with members for limiting the relative angular displacement of adjacent links in the chain; between the middle increased diameters there engage the teeth of a drive sprocket; the limiting members prevent the chain from becoming deflected in the direction of its remote side from the drive sprocket past a position of substantially straight alignment of the links and take up the bending couples on the chain on application of a push force to a fixture leaf.
Abstract:
A power window assembly for a rear window opening of a truck cab has a pair of stationary window panes spaced apart and securely mounted in the rear window opening and defining therebetween a center window opening. First and second movable window panes are slidably located in the rear window opening and adapted for sliding movement toward each other to a closed position where the panes abut each other closing the center window opening and away from each other to an opened position overlying at least a portion of the stationary window panes thereby opening the center window opening. A reversible electric motor has a primary drive gear for generating rotary motion of the primary drive gear. A tape having a plurality of slots engaging and driven by the primary drive gear is connected to the first movable window so that the first movable window pane moves between the closed position and the opened position. A secondary drive gear is rotatably mounted and engages the tape and the second movable window pane so that the tape drives the secondary drive gear and the secondary drive gear drives the second movable window pane whereby the movable window panes move simultaneously toward each other to the closed position and away from each other to the opened position.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an improved chain assembly and a method for making the same. In general, the method of making a chain assembly in accordance with the present invention, comprises forming a plurality of links having a preselected shape and placement of apertures therein. A plurality of wire blanks are formed having an outer diameter to permit insertion into the apertures of the links. Such link is retained in a fixed position and a wire blank is inserted into each aperture of the link. On one end of each wire blank, a head is formed having a diameter larger than the aperture into which the wire blank is inserted. A mating link is placed into engagement with each link containing wire blanks with the end of each blank inserted in one aperture of the mating link in a manner to form a chain assembly. On the other end of each wire blank, a head is formed to complete interlocking of the links and blanks in forming the chain assembly.
Abstract:
A flex-drive actuator for a satellite boom hinge or other hinge applications. Using a motor-driven cog and a unique drive chain, the hinge can be reversibly driven between open and closed positions, thereby deploying or stowing the boom and attached payload. The chain includes links designed so that, when bent in one direction, the chain pre-buckles into a rigid circular arc form that matches the deployment path of the hinge. This pre-buckling essentially converts the chain into a rigid gear segment that can carry a moment to actuate the hinge. As the cog retracts the chain and the hinge closes, the circular shape of the chain de-buckles on the free side of the cog, where the chain can be stored as a straight section inside of a boom tube or folded into a magazine. The flex-drive actuator can accommodate any desired actuation angle by addition of links to the chain.
Abstract:
A push-pull chain and actuator. The push-pull chain has lateral flexibility in two opposite directions. The actuator in which the chain is used can be mounted with either side of the chain up with substantially equally lateral flexing capacity. The push-pull chain bends sidewards in both opposing directions without being forced to assume a straight-line configuration.
