摘要： The invention provides a roof bolt installation tool which has a central drill bit. A plate surrounds the central drill bit and has radial drill bits attached to it so that when the central drill bit rotates, the plate rotates. A boot surrounds the plate and is rotationally isolated from the plate and central drill bit. When the drill bit cuts a central bore into a mine roof, the radial drill bits cut a recess having a horizontal surface. A roof bolt and support plate are installed such that the bolt is inserted in the central bore and the support plate abuts the horizontal surface.

摘要： An auxiliary working apparatus configured for use with a drilling apparatus including a platform which is supported above ground and a drill pipe which extends through a hole in the platform to be displaced into the ground for drilling a hole in the ground. The drill pipe is of a type having a central passage along which pressurized air is blown. The apparatus is mounted to an underside of the platform by means of an auxiliary support structure which includes a hub, a number of vanes mounted to the hub and a hydraulic motor for driving the hub. The vanes are in the form of flexible rubber flaps which are circumferentially spaced and extend radially outwardly from the hub. The vanes revolve around the drill pipe so as to displace chippings which are blown from the hole during a drilling operation, outwardly away from the drill pipe to form an annular mound around and spaced from the hole.

摘要： An articulated pre-skimmer mount for a pre-skimmer associated with a drill bit feed unit comprises a feed mounting arm mounted to the drill bit feed unit. A first end is configured for attachment to the drill feed unit and a second end includes a cylindrical mounting shaft and an axial positioning plate. An intermediate arm has a first end comprising a cylindrical sleeve mounted thereto. The cylindrical sleeve has an inner cylindrical opening configured for sliding engagement with the cylindrical mounting shaft and a mating plate configured for locking, face-to-face engagement with the axial positioning plate. A second end comprises a pre-skimmer mounting assembly configured for attachment to the pre-skimmer, wherein an axial positioning plate and a mating plate are operable to disengage, for rotation of the intermediate arm about an axis of the feed mounting arm for alignment of the pre-skimmer.

摘要： A well bore fluid recovery system and method is disclosed for recovering a column of well bore fluid within a stand of casing before cutting the casing. The recovery system relates to a system for preventing fluids from being spilled when casing is being finished for a well bore. After being run the casing must be cut and finished at an appropriate level to install rig equipment such as blow out preventers along with other equipment. However, because of earlier operations, the entire length of casing is typically filled with drilling fluid. Depending on conditions, the length of casing which is to be cut and removed may therefore over a 100-foot (27.4 meter) column of drilling fluid therein. The drilling fluid in this section must be properly drained before the casing is cut and removed.
