    摘要: A fuel separation apparatus comprises a stock fuel storage tank storing stock fuel, a separator provided with a separation film separating the stock fuel into high octane value fuel with an octane value higher than the stock fuel and a low octane value fuel with an octane value lower than the stock fuel, and a high octane value fuel storage tank storing the high octane value fuel separated by the separator. When the temperature of the separation film is lower than the high octane value fuel separation temperature, the high octane value fuel stored in the high octane value fuel storage tank is supplied to the separator. Due to this, vaporization of fuel is suppressed and the fuel can be quickly raised in temperature. Due to this, a vehicle mounted fuel separation apparatus able to quickly raise the temperature of the fuel supplied to the separation film so as to quickly raise the temperature of the separation film at the time of engine cold start can be provided.

    摘要: A fuel vapor generator disposed in the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The vapor generator enriches air passing through the manifold to the individual cylinders to enhance engine starting capability, especially at low ambient temperatures. A dedicated fuel injector dispenses atomized fuel onto the surface of an electrically-heated element spaced apart from the nozzle of the fuel injector. The element is positioned within the manifold such that evaporated fuel is immediately swept from the generator by intake air and mixed with air in the manifold. In one aspect of the invention, the location for the heating element is immediately downstream of the manifold air intake throttle valve. The invention is especially useful for spark-ignited engines.

    摘要: The present invention provides a multi-phase fuel system for an internal combustion engine. More specifically, when the multi-phase fuel system is applied to a vehicle, the higher volatility (lower boiling temperature) components of fuel are supplied to the engine in a vaporized gaseous form while the lower volatility (higher boiling temperature) components of fuel are supplied to the engine in an atomized liquid form. In this manner, the multi-phase fuel system is capable of providing a more optimum lean air/fuel mixture for better fuel economy and emissions control during normal operating conditions while being able to quickly enrich the fuel mixture in response to sudden increases in load demand.

    摘要: A fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine is provided with a fuel tank for liquid fuel, from which a fuel supply line leads to a fuel injection device, and an evaporating and condensing device for low-boiling fuel components, connected to the fuel tank. Also provided is an intermediary tank connected downstream from the evaporating and condensing device, for condensate, from which tank a condensate line leads to a control valve that regulates supply to the injection device. A residual fuel line for the high-boiling fuel produced in the evaporating and condensing device ends in an additional tank, from which a residual fuel supply line runs to a reversing valve mounted in the fuel supply line. The reversing valve is controlled so that the high-boiling fuel is supplied from the residual fuel supply line into the fuel supply line going to an injection device of the engine.
