    Abstract: An internal combustion engine control device includes a valve closing time calculation unit, a valve closing delay time difference calculation unit that normalizes a plurality of valve closing delay times with a fuel pressure and calculates a valve closing delay time difference, a content rate calculation unit that calculates the synthetic fuel content rate of a fuel stored in a fuel tank based on characteristic data indicating the relationship between the valve closing delay time difference and the synthetic fuel content rate of synthetic fuel contained in the fuel, and a combustion control unit that controls an internal combustion engine such that the exhaust temperature of an exhaust gas discharged from a combustion chamber becomes equal to or higher than a threshold temperature based on the synthetic fuel content rate.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a novel combination of devices to measure and transmit to an electronic controller data pertaining to differential pressures, temperatures, regeneration status, exhaust content, accumulated gas consumption and substitute fuel consumption. The electronic controller compares the data to thresholds; when the controller receives signals indicating these thresholds or limits are met, the controller causes the gas substitution rate to be diminished or set to zero until after-treatments elements are fully regenerated thereby facilitating integration of a mixed fuel system with an application internal combustion engine.

    Abstract: A multi-fuel system and a method for supplying one or more fuels to an engine in a vehicle having a multi-fuel system are disclosed. Embodiments may determine a quantity of fuel added to one or more tanks, determine energy content and a mass property for each fuel stored in the tanks and supply one or more fuels from the tanks to achieve an operating parameter of the vehicle. Embodiments may analyze a route and determine, for a segment on the route, whether to supply a first fuel with a first set of characteristics or supply a second fuel with a second set of characteristics. The selection of a single fuel or a mixture of two or more fuels for a segment may be based on cost and/or characteristics related to emissions or power.

    Abstract: A vehicle control system and a method of operating thereof may include determining a first ratio at which to operate a vehicle system at a first location along a route along which the vehicle system moves. The first ratio may be based on an amount of a first fuel of a first fuel source relative to an amount of a second fuel of a second fuel source. The vehicle system may be powered by one or more of the first or the second fuel sources. First operational settings at which to control the vehicle system may be determined based on the first ratio between the first and second fuel sources at the first location along the route. Operation of the vehicle system may be controlled according to the first operational settings to move the vehicle system according to the first ratio at the first location along the route.
