    摘要: A vehicle power transmitting device can include a clutch and an actuator. The actuator can include a coil spring, a plunger, and a rotating member. The coil spring can include a plurality of coils disposed about an axis. The plunger can include a body and a follower. The follower can be fixedly coupled to the body. The body can be disposed about the axis and coupled to the clutch to selectively activate the clutch. The follower can be received between adjacent ones of the coils. The rotating member can be rotatable about the axis and drivingly coupled to one of the coil spring and the plunger to rotate the one of the coil spring and the plunger about the axis. Rotation of the rotatable member can effect translation of the plunger, compression of the coil spring, or both translation of the plunger and compression of the coil spring.

    摘要: A position sensing assembly includes a bearing element and a helically shaped rotational member used to drive a portion of a sensor assembly, such as a Digital Rotary Magnetic Encoder. Interaction between the bearing element and a helically shaped rotational member minimizes the presence of backlash in the position sensing assembly. Accordingly, as an actuator assembly drives both a control element, such as a flight control surface, and the position sensing assembly, the sensor assembly generates an output signal that accurately reflects the position of the control element.

The opposed peripheral surfaces of adjacent coils of each spiral wire coil form the walls of one of the spiral grooves. Each coil shape retention device prevents the associated spiral wire coil from changing shape when the ball nut moves spirally relative to the screw shaft.

A base screw having a fixed pitch extends through the drive nut and is linearly translatable in response to rotation of the drive nut. The base screw carries a pin that follows a secondary helical screw. Linear translation of the base screw is altered by tracking of the pin along the helical screw such that rotation of the base screw is selectively effected simultaneously with rotation of the drive nut resulting in an effective variable pitch of the screw driver. Linear translation of the base screw effects linear translation of a piston at a variable rate.

    摘要: In a feed screw device according to the present invention, a coil member is disposed on the outer periphery of a rotary shaft member. The coil member is formed of an elastic body such as a piece of piano wire. The coil member is mounted at least partially on the shaft member so as to have at least a portion remaining in a free state. The coil member is used to engage a nut placed on the outer periphery of the shaft member. When the shaft member is rotated, the coil member is also rotated together with the shaft member, so that the nut is moved in the axial direction of the feed screw. When the nut is brought into contact with a stopper by a driving force, the nut impactively strikes the stopper. However, since the coil member can be elastically deformed in the axial direction, the coil member is elastically deformed to absorb its impact. Also the "spring back" effect enabled by the deformable coil member serves as a contribution to the initiation of movement of the nut in the reverse direction. Thus, when the direction of the driving force is reversed, the nut can immediately be moved in the reverse direction by a slight driving force.
