Abstract:
A pipe sealing gasket is shown which is designed to be received within a raceway provided within the female, belled end of a section of plastic pipe which is assembled with a mating male pipe end to form a plastic pipe joint. The gasket is a two-component gasket having a softer, elastomeric portion and a harder, plastic ring portion. A splicing technique is used to form the softer, elastomeric portion with the harder, plastic portion being injection molded over the previously formed elastomeric portion.

Abstract:
A pipe system includes a tubular body having an axis, a bore extending in an axial direction, a tubular body retainer groove formed in the bore, and a tubular body exterior. Retainers are configured to be mounted in the tubular body retainer groove only from the bore of the tubular body. In one version, the retainers cannot be installed in the tubular body retainer groove from the exterior of the tubular body. The retainers are configured to be circumferentially spaced apart from each other with respect to the axis. In addition, a pipe having a pipe exterior with a pipe retainer groove is configured to receive the retainers to form a pipe assembly.
Abstract:
A pipe connection assembly having a fitting, an end section of the fitting for receiving a pipe end, a sealing ring, a separating ring, a cutting ring and a holding element, wherein the fitting has an inner section with an inner diameter adapted to the outer diameter of the pipe end to be received, wherein the end section has an inner contour tapered in sections starting from the distal end, wherein the sealing ring, the separating ring and the cutting ring are arranged such that they are axially movable inside the end section of the fitting, and wherein the holding element has an inner thread for screwing onto an outer thread formed on the fitting and a stop element protruding inwards for abutment against the arrangement of the sealing ring, the separating ring and the cutting ring.
Abstract:
Connector part comprising a body part for connecting to a counterpart for creating a fluid tight seal when fitted together. The connector part also comprises a seal element made of resilient material and a space which is capable to receive the seal element made of resilient material when the fluid tight seal is made. The connector part can be used for forming a fluid tight connection structure.
Abstract:
A pipe joining system and pipe joint are shown in which two sections of plastic pipe, particularly molecularly oriented pipe, are joined. A first section of plastic pipe has a female, belled pipe end with a mouth opening and having an exterior surface, an interior surface and having an interior circumferential recess formed in the belled pipe end adjacent the mouth opening on the interior surface thereof. A second section of plastic pipe having a mating male plastic pipe end has an interior surface and exterior surface. The exterior surface has a circumferential groove formed at one circumferential location thereof which is alignable with the interior recess formed within the mouth opening of the belled pipe end as the pipe joint is made-up. The circumferential groove is formed during the manufacture of the plastic pipe by expanding the pipe against a restraining element located in the interior of an expansion mold. The respective grooves contain elements of a restraint system which form a restrained joint when the male and female pipe sections are assembled.
Abstract:
A pipe sealing gasket is shown which is designed to be received within a raceway provided within a socket end of a female bell plastic pipe end which is assembled with a mating male pipe end to form a plastic pipe joint. The raceway is preformed about the gasket during the pipe belling operation. The gasket has a rubber body portion which is reinforced by a hard plastic band formed as a series of integral, spaced wedges which are interconnected by a flexible ribbon. The hard plastic band acts to prevent extrusion of the gasket during a variety of pressure conditions as well as preventing displacement during field assembly.

Abstract:
A method of producing plastic pipe having air channels axially extending through the wall thereof, with at least one of the respective ends of the air channels being closed by an annular slotted channel-closure filled with a caulking material in its annular slot. The channel-closure is force-fitted on the pipe end, so that the caulking material is pressed into the air channels.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for manufacturing the socket portion of a plastics pipe provided with a sealing ring by pushing said sealing ring on a mandrel and by locking it thereto whereupon the heated end of said plastics pipe is pushed onto said mandrel and said sealing ring. Hereafter, the locking of said sealing ring is released, and the pipe and the ring therein a removed from the mandrel. In order to facilitate this removal operation, a mandrel having an adjustable diameter is used, the mantle surface of said mandrel being provided with peripheral grooves into which shoulders in said sealing ring fit for locking said ring to said mandrel for the duration of the socket forming.
