    摘要: A method and apparatus of packing product in a tubular casing is provided. The method includes providing a continuous length of tubular casing, providing an expansion plug within the tubular casing, grasping the casing upstream end with a casing grabber, moving the casing grabber away from the expansion plug towards an outlet end of a product feed conduit, feeding product from the product feed conduit through the casing upstream end into the tubular casing, and cutting the tubular casing downstream of the product to sever an upstream casing segment from the remaining continuous length of tubular casing.

A sensor substance is received loosely in the inner cavity of the cap, the sensor substance having light-emitting properties adapted to change with specific temperature variations. An optical fiber has a first end received in the inner cavity of the cap and fusion spliced thereto, and a second end of the optical fiber being adapted to be connected to a processing unit for transmitting light signals from the sensor substance to the processing unit when the fiber-optic temperature sensor assembly is subjected to specific temperatures. A method for manufacturing the fiber-optic temperature sensor assembly is defined.

The apparatus includes a pair of clamps that clamp an end portion of a tubular body of resin flat. A heater heats and fuses a projecting end portion projecting from the clamps. A bending member bends side projecting portions of the body formed during heating so that they are inwardly projecting. A press member presses the projecting end portion to form a seal portion.

    摘要: A sterile containment welding device for plastic tubes comprises a pair of side by side spaced tube holders. Each of the tube holders includes a clamp base and a clamp lid. A pocket is provided in each clamp base extending completely across the clamp base so that a plastic tube could be inserted into the pocket and clamped in the holder when its clamp lid is moved to a closed position. Pockets of the side by side tube holders are alignable with each other to permit a plastic tube in one of the holders to be welded to the plastic tube in the other of the holders. A tube locating member is movably mounted at the end of each pocket in the space between the holders. The tube locating member has a wall disposed in the space beyond the pocket for positioning its plastic tube in the proper position for the later welding step when its tube is moved into contact with the walls. An inactivating member is mounted to each clamp lid to contact the tube locating member and move it out of contact with its plastic tube upon the closing of the lid so that the tubes are exposed to be heated and welded together.

    摘要: A method of joining tubes (A and B) having a corrugated wall (10) of fusible plastic material and terminating at a cut through a corrugation rib, comprises the following steps. An annular body (14) expanding when energy is supplied to it, is positioned in an annular space (13) formed by the corrugation ribs at the end of one tube (A) and an inner boundary which can be formed by an inner wall (11) of fusible plastic material, integral with the corrugated wall of said one tube, or by a sleeve inserted into the adjacent ends of the tubes, also of fusible material. The tube ends are put together to close said space by the end of the other tube (13), and a radial and axial support (19) for the corrugation ribs is arranged on the outside of the tubes. Then, the annular body is expanded by heating to fuse said body to the walls of the tubes and the sleeve, respectively.

    摘要: A gusseted double-walled box is formed of a parison that is draped and blow molded according to the following process. A blow molding parison (10) being draped around a generally rectangular mold part (12) is spread from its extruded cylindrical shape into a generally rectangular shape (14), as it descends from an extrusion head (11). Before the open bottom (20) of the parison reaches a clamp (25) on the mold part, a jet of air is blown downward through the open bottom to draw in the parison's side and end regions (21 and 22 respectively). This reduces the size of parison (10) and helps it fit within the clamp and also forms the end regions (22) of the parison into a pair of opposed pleats (23) extending inward from the ends of the pinch-off line when clamp (25) closes. Further descending of the parison unfolds the pleats into gussets (24) extending toward corner regions (27) of mold part (12) so that the parison can drape around the mold part corners. The resulting box has gussets formed on an internal wall to extend from the pinch-off line, as can be seen by cutting away the box bottom.

    摘要: An apparatus for continuously and rapidly forming petal-like segments at the tip of a tampon inserter into a hemispherically curved shape. Sets of molds are mounted on a support table on a rotary table turned about a shaft. Each set comprises a heating mold to heat and soften the tip of the tampon inserter and a cooling mold to shape while being cooled the heated and softened tip. The heating and cooling molds are moved by a cam so that either of the two molds is placed above the tampon inserter held in position by a gripper. The gripper comprises a pair of gripper segments that are opened and closed by a cam on the shaft and raised and lowered by another cam on the same shaft. The cams are adapted to release the tampon inserter from the gripper after the tampon inserter has been put first in the heating mold and then in the cooling mold. The tip of the tampon inserter held by the gripper first enters the heating mold to get heated. While the heated tip descends temporarily, the cooling mold is brought to above the tampon inserter. As the tampon inserter rises again, its tip comes in contact with the inner surface of the cooling mold, in which the tip is formed into a hemispherically curved shape while being cooled.
