摘要: A headlamp for a vehicle comprises: a light source emitting light forming a beam pattern, the light comprising light waves having an electric field vector oscillating in all directions perpendicular to a path of travel of the light wave, and the beam pattern comprising a foreground portion relative to a horizontal axis and a non-foreground portion; and one or more filters dedicated to the foreground portion of the beam pattern that does not transmit light waves having an electric field vector oscillating in a direction parallel to the horizontal axis. The light source can be one or more light emitting diodes. The filter can be an absorptive polarizer. The absorptive polarizer can be a polarizing sheet.

The lighting system (100A, 100B) further comprises a reflector unit, a support structure (210), and a reflective surface (104) with an essentially linear shape in the longitudinal direction (X) and a curved shape in the longitudinal transverse direction (Y), and a chromatic diffusing layer (108) comprising a plurality of nanoparticles embedded in a matrix, wherein the chromatic diffusing layer (108) is positioned such that at least a portion of the reflected light beam (220A) passes through the chromatic diffusing layer (108), thereby generating diffuse light by scattering more efficiently the short-wavelengths components of the light in the visible spectral range than the long-wavelength components of the light in the visible spectral range.

The remainder of the light emitted by the light-emission element enters via the entry region, reflects off the second fully reflective surface and the third fully reflective surface in the stated order, exits from the connection surface, enters again via the first fully reflective surface, and subsequently exits from the exit surface.

At least a portion of the at least one optical element has a thickness (D) increasing in direction towards the base such that the at least one optical element refracts light emitted by the at least one light source for creating at least one virtual light source (8) spaced from the base. The present aspect is advantageous in that each one of the envelope and the optical element may be manufactured separately, e.g. by standard injection molding technique.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to curved arrays of individually addressable light-emitting elements for sweeping out angular ranges. One example device includes a curved optical element. The device may also include a curved array of individually addressable light-emitting elements arranged to emit light towards the curved optical element. A curvature of the curved array is substantially concentric to at least a portion of the circumference of the curved optical element. The curved optical element is arranged to focus light emitted from each individually addressable light-emitting element to produce a substantially linear illumination pattern at a different corresponding scan angle within an angular range. The device may further include a control system operable to sequentially activate the individually addressable light-emitting elements such that the substantially linear illumination pattern sweeps out the angular range.

摘要: A light projector intended to produce a directional flat light beam includes an elongate cylindrical lens and a linear light source parallel to the generatrix direction, extending over all or part of the length of the lens to emit light in the direction of the lens. The lens is designed to generate a principal flat light beam by concentrating the light in a predefined elevation angular sector around the horizontal generatrix direction. The light projector also includes a deflector having a rectangular plate shape positioned on the side opposite the light source. A signalling beacon including such a projector is also described.
