    摘要: A plate fin heat exchanger assembly (S) for a cryogenic air separation unit, comprising: a heat exchanger having at least two cryogenic liquid inlets (B,C) at least two cryogenic liquid outlets (B,C), at least one nitrogen-rich stream inlet (D) at a first end of the heat exchanger and at least one nitrogen-rich stream outlet at a second end of the heat exchanger, the heat exchanger configured to receive a flow of at least one nitrogen-rich stream (WN,LPGAN) of the air separation unit at the at least one nitrogen-rich stream inlet and separate flows of at least two cryogenic liquids (LOX,LIN,LR) at the at least two cryogenic liquid inlets; wherein the inlet of the first of the cryogenic liquids is closer to the first end than the outlet of the second of the cryogenic liquids.

    摘要: A fluid is cooled and liquefied in an apparatus with a heat exchanger. A plurality of flow passages has two or more primary groups of one or more primary flow passages. Each primary group carries a part of the fluid stream through the heat exchanger and indirectly cools the part of the fluid stream against a refrigerant in the shell side of the heat exchanger to provide a liquefied fluid stream. A primary inlet header connects the two or more primary groups of primary flow passages to a source of the fluid, and is arranged to split the fluid stream between the two or more primary groups of primary flow passages. Valves are provided for selectively blocking at least one of the two or more primary groups of primary flow passages whilst allowing the fluid stream to flow through the remaining unblocked primary groups of primary flow passages.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for producing a pressurized product stream product by cryogenic rectification. A main heat exchanger, used in the cryogenic rectification, warms a pumped product stream composed of oxygen-rich or nitrogen-rich liquid and thereby produces the pressurized product stream. Layers of the main heat exchanger are designed such that a reduction in the heat transfer area provided within the main heat exchanger for warming the pumped product stream occurs at a location at which the temperature of the pumped product stream exceeds either the critical or a dew point temperature of such stream. The reduction in heat transfer area leaves regions of the layers able to heat or cool another stream that is used in connection with the cryogenic rectification. Such other stream can be a refrigerant stream that allows the introduction of additional refrigeration to increase production of liquid products.
