    摘要： A firearm with safety mechanism in one embodiment comprises a receiver, a trigger-actuated firing mechanism with movable trigger operable to discharge the firearm, and a safety mechanism configured to arrest the firing mechanism. The safety mechanism is movable between a first position preventing movement of the trigger and a second position allowing movement of the trigger for discharging the firearm. In one embodiment, an elongated stock bolt attaches a buttstock to the receiver. The stock bolt passes through a portion of the safety mechanism to engage the receiver. This allows an operating button of the safety to be ergonomically mounted on a top surface of the firearm above the stock bolt. In one implementation, the firing and safety mechanisms may each be operably mounted in a fire control module disposed in the receiver and removable therefrom as a separate self-supported unit.

    摘要： An over-and-under shotgun apparatus includes a radius track which serves as a hinge for articulating the barrel portion of the shotgun apparatus relative to the receiver/stock portion of the shotgun apparatus. The radius track is defined by a female or concave portion formed on the monoblock attached to the shotgun barrels, and a male or convex portion formed on the frame or receiver section. The radius track defines a pivot axis that is spaced from the radius track. The radius track provides a substantial surface area sufficient to absorb all of the recoil force generated when the shotgun is discharged. No additional abutment surfaces are needed. A further aspect of the invention involves a novel trigger assembly, including a striker which moves toward the front end of the firearm when the firearm is cocked, and moves toward the butt end of the firearm when the trigger is pulled to discharge the firearm. Yet another novel aspect of the invention relates to a four-position safety switch for selecting the firing sequence of the upper and lower barrels.

In another aspect of the invention, the semiautomatic pistol is configured to translate the linear recoil movement into rotational movement, which allows internalized recoil.

    摘要： A frame assembly for facilitating disassembly of a striker-fired pistol is disclosed. The frame assembly facilitates removal of the slide from a striker-fired pistol without trigger manipulation and with minimized potential for a round to be chambered. The frame assembly includes a takedown safety lever and a takedown actuation lever. Movement of the takedown safety lever causes the sear to be moved such that subsequent slide motion will not result in the storage of striker energy. Movement of the takedown safety lever is only possible while the slide is refracted beyond the point at which a chambered round would be ejected. Removal of the slide does not require pulling the trigger. The positioning of the takedown safety lever motion for disassembly may be precluded by the presence of a magazine in the gun, thereby eliminating the possibility that a round could be chambered during subsequent slide motion.
