摘要： A machine gun assembly includes, but is not limited to, a receiver, a barrel extension, and an interlock element. The barrel extension is mounted to the receiver and moves between forward and retracted positions with respect to the receiver. The barrel extension is configured for quick-release engagement with a barrel. The interlock element is mounted to the receiver and moves between a blocking position and a clear position. The interlock element has a blocking portion positioned to obstruct movement of the barrel extension to the forward position while in the blocking position and the blocking portion is positioned to permit movement of the barrel extension to the forward position while in the clear position. The interlock element moves to the blocking position when the barrel disengages from the barrel extension and moves to the clear position when the barrel is correctly engaged with the barrel extension.

摘要： A weapon system includes a receiver and an operating group with a barrel extension arranged to axially translate relative to the receiver. In the firing condition, the op-rod assembly and bolt assembly are driven by the drive spring such that the round is guided into the chamber and the op-rod assembly and bolt assembly are locked to the barrel extension and a forward momentum of the op-rod assembly is imparted to the operating group and the round is fired. A portion of an impulse stops the forward momentum of the operating group. In the recoil condition, the operating group is driven rearward by the remaining portion of the impulse, the gas accelerator imparts additional rearward momentum to the op-rod assembly and bolt assembly and stops rearward momentum of the barrel and barrel extension, and the op-rod assembly and the bolt assembly are stopped by the drive spring.

摘要： A firearm with barrel interlock system for a rotary mounted quick coupling barrel assembly. In one embodiment, the firearm includes a receiver and barrel assembly rotatably mounted thereto. A bolt carrier supporting a bolt is slidably disposed in the receiver and axially movable into and out of battery with the barrel assembly. The barrel interlock system may include a first barrel anti-rotation locking element disposed on the barrel assembly and a mating second barrel anti-rotation locking element disposed on the bolt carrier that is engageable with the first element. When mutually engaged, the first and second locking elements form a meshed relationship and prevent rotation and removal of the barrel assembly from the receiver. In some non-limiting embodiments, the locking elements may be in the form of a protrusion and complementary shaped recess.

摘要： A gun barrel with a gun barrel liner and a breech ring, which are joined with each other by a bayonet thread. A continuous cavity is left between adjacent bayonet ridges of the gun barrel liner and the bayonet ridges of the breech ring that are located axially behind them or in front of them. In one embodiment, the barrel assembly may include barrel locking lugs which rotatably engage and interlock with corresponding locking elements disposed on the barrel nut such a splines. The barrel assembly further includes a spring member forming a flexible interface with the barrel nut. The spring member self-tensions and tightens the lockup between the barrel assembly and barrel nut to promote a tight fit. Some embodiments may include a lock nut and a setting tool for adjusting the spring force to promote consistently proper lockup from one replacement barrel assembly to the next.

摘要： An ambidextrous magazine release for a firearm is provided for a firearm having a magazine well configured to operatively receive a magazine having a side-locking recess received within the well. The ambidextrous magazine release comprises a linkage moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position having a lock pin configured to be received in a side-locking recess of a magazine operatively received in the magazine well with the linkage in the engaged position and to clear the side-locking recess with the linkage in the disengaged position. An actuator is provided on the firearm comprising a bar having a opposing push surfaces extending between a right and left side of the firearm. An interface is provided between the linkage and actuator with the interface being configured so that as either of the opposing push surfaces of the bar is pushed by a user, the linkage is moved between the engaged and the disengaged position.
