    摘要: A vernier calliper for measuring the thickness of a disc brake rotor fitted to a vehicle, the vernier calliper including: (i) first and second members which are mounted for sliding movement relative to one another along an axis; (ii) first and second abutments located on the first and second members respectively and being adapted, in use, to engage first and second sides of a disc brake rotor, the first abutment including an abutment surface; (iii) retaining means for retaining the calliper in an operative position in which: (iv) the first abutment surface engages the first side of the disc and is parallel thereof; (v) the second abutment engages the second side of the disc; and (vi) said axis is orthogonal to said first and second sides of the disc.

The apparatus may include a housing that is sized for placement in an opening in the door and an adjustment member that is structured for at least selective axial displacement about the housing. At least a portion of the adjustment member may be structured for placement adjacent to an outside portion of the door. The apparatus may include an indicator assembly having an indicator gauge that is biased against the adjustment member by a biasing element. The indicator portion is structured for axial displacement about the housing via the axial displacement of the adjustment member. The indicator assembly may also include a cover having an opening that provides a visual access point for an indicium of the indicator gauge.

    摘要: An apparatus for measuring the thickness of a measurement object, preferably a measurement object in the form of a web or piece goods, in a measuring gap, with a measuring mechanism which is fitted to a machine frame, wherein the measuring mechanism for measuring the thickness comprises one or more travel measurement sensor(s) aimed at the measurement object, is characterized in that a compensation sensor which is coupled to a travel measurement sensor measures the distance to a reference rule in order to detect and compensate for a change in the measuring gap, in that the reference rule is in the form of a side of a frame-shaped reference device integrated in the measuring mechanism, and in that the reference device is configured in such a manner that the distance between the reference rule and that side of the reference device which is opposite the reference rule is known during the thickness measurement. A corresponding method for measuring the thickness is also stated.
