摘要： A dispenser is described for pouring liquids from a container such as a liquor bottle. It includes a discharge passage having an outlet nozzle at one end and a dual purpose valve element slideably and sealably mounted within the passage. The valve element includes a duct through it that extends between opposite sides of the passage. A movable sealing body, e.g. a ball in the duct is adapted to move under the influence of gravity to a first position for sealing the duct when the dispenser is inverted. The sealing body moves under the influence of gravity from its sealing position to an open position when the dispenser is upright allowing the valve element to slide quickly to its starting position at the end of the passage.

摘要： This invention relates to a liquid pour metering device (21, 51, 81, 101) as well as a system (111) and method of monitoring dispensing of liquid from a liquid container (113). The device (21, 51) comprises a body defining a liquid passageway (7) having an inlet (9) at one end and an outlet (11) at the other end, the liquid passageway having a mechanical portion controller (1) therein comprising a ball bearing (13) moveable along at least portion of the length of the liquid passageway. There is provided a motion sensor (23) to detect when a pour operation has commenced and a ball bearing sensor (25) operable to detect the end of the pour operation. There is further provided a timer (29) and a transmitter (31) for transmitting data relating to the length of time required to perform the pour operation. By having such a device, it is possible to accurately determine whether the pour is a true pour, a non-pour or an overpour using a mechanical portion controller (1) in a liquid pour metering system thereby obviating the problems of inaccuracies and power requirements of the known systems. The recorded sales may also be compared to registered sales to highlight discrepancies and prevent theft.

摘要： Methods of pouring liquids from bottles have the steps of providing a pouring head with at least two functionally different modes of pouring, i.e. electronically timed pouring with automatic shut-off, and free pouring either with or without an annunciator signal, and the step of selecting one of the modes at the time of dispensing. Further, the steps of providing a normally open magnetically latched valve, and momentarily de-magnetizing to drop the valve and terminate pouring, and the steps of shaking the valve back on to magnetic and electrically sensing the presence of the valve and electrically starting a subsequent pour while the bottle remains inverted. A further step has free pouring with sensory annunciation of the completion of pouring, with the preferred annunciation being a blinking light signal.
