    摘要: A method of selectively displaying an image representative of a weather condition in relation to an aircraft includes selecting, on a display screen, a display area to display weather data based on the location of the aircraft, selecting a weather condition to display from among a plurality of weather conditions, determining if any weather conditions are available to be displayed outside the selected display area and if the weather conditions should be displayed outside the selected display area based on the location of the aircraft and the severity of the non-selected weather conditions, receiving, from a weather data source, weather data representative of the selected weather condition with respect to the selected display area, and receiving weather data representative of weather conditions that should be displayed outside the selected display area, the weather data including location data for the weather conditions, and displaying the image representative of the selected weather condition within the selected display area and the weather conditions that should be displayed outside the selected display area, the image based on the received weather data.

    摘要: This disclosure provides a target object detection device for detecting different areas by different pulse-shaped signals detecting an area from an antenna position to a given distance. The device includes a transmission module for transmitting different pulse-shaped transmission signals at predetermined timings, a reception module for receiving their reflection signals to generate a reception signal, a saturation detection module for comparing a level of each of the reception signals with a predetermined threshold to detect saturation of the reception signal, and an image forming module for forming a detection image based on the reception signals. The transmission module generates an alternative pulse-shaped signal that is different from the transmitted pulse-shaped transmission signal when the saturation detection module detects the saturation of the reception signal. The image forming module replaces the saturated reception signal with a reception signal obtained by using the alternative pulse-shaped signal to form the detection image.

    摘要: A radar apparatus where the rate of writing detected image data into an image memory does not decrease, irrespective of an enlarged amount of the detected image data. When an azimuth direction enlargement section of a W data generator receives detected image data of a sweep, it outputs the data to an image memory, and delays the data, depending on a cycle of an azimuth direction shift timing signal. When detected image data of a next sweep is drawn into a pixel adjacent in a sweep moving direction to a pixel into which previous detected image data has been drawn and is located at the same distance in a sweep distance direction, the delayed data is compared with new data, and the greater data is drawn into the new pixel. When the delayed data is greater, this detected image data is enlarged in the azimuth direction.

    摘要: In a radar PPI display, digital techniques are utilized to allow an operator to move the point about which the radial trace beam rotates to a point remote from the center of the radar viewing screen and including movement off the screen without actually moving the display beam off the screen. A sweep signal generator detects the location of the operator positioned off-center point from the settings of off-center controls and is responsive to radar range scale and antenna position signals to generate appropriate ramp deflection signals in the proper time sequence to accurately display a selected portion of the plan position indication upon the entire area of the viewing screen. A beam control circuit is responsive to the same signals as the signal generator and to a radar start pulse to determine the exact time the PPI display beam is to be turned on to display selected portions of the plan position indication. In this manner, the display beam is never deflected off the screen but is selectively blanked and unblanked and swept across the viewing screen to display the selected portion of the plan position indication upon the viewing screen as if the radar trace originated off the screen. The signal generator and control circuit cooperate such that when a target under study is in the middle of the screen when range scale is changed, the target will still be in the middle of the screen except that it will be expanded or contracted according to the range scale change.

    摘要: An electromagnetic deflection system to provide a low-cost, depressed-center CRT display for a sector scanning sensor. An auxiliary coil (usually a ring) is wound about a cathode ray tube, axially spaced intermediate the conventional deflection yoke and the display face of the CRT, and oriented relative to the longitudinal axis of the tube to provide a resultant magnetic vector which is mutually angled relative to such longitudinal axis. The deflection system can be driven by conventional low cost flyback deflection circuits producing sawtooth deflection currents. For example, in a display for an azimuthally scanning radar, the radar range sweep generator frequency output need be applied only to the vertical deflection winding of the conventional deflection yoke, while the radar azimuth scan frequency is applied either to the auxiliary coil alone or to the auxiliary coil and the horizontal deflection winding of the conventional deflection yoke in series.
