    摘要: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a first area including a display portion, a second area adjacent to the first area, and an organic film. The second substrate has a substrate end along a boundary between the first area and the second area, and overlaps the first area. The first substrate includes an alignment film located in the display portion, terminals located in the second area and connected to a signal source, and a first groove formed in the organic film and located between the substrate end of the second substrate and the terminals in the second area. The terminals are arranged in a first direction. The first groove extends in the first direction along the terminals.

    摘要: A polarization-insensitive device includes a liquid crystal layer and an adjustment layer that are stacked. The liquid crystal layer is configured to perform, under action of an electric field, first phase adjustment on a passing light component in a first polarization direction. The adjustment layer is configured to obtain a first light beam and a second light beam based on the incident light component in the first polarization direction that passes through the liquid crystal layer, second phase adjustment and polarization direction adjustment are performed on the first light beam at the adjustment layer. A polarization direction of the first light beam is perpendicular to a polarization direction of the first light beam obtained before the polarization direction adjustment; and the first light beam and the second light beam have different propagation directions after passing through the liquid crystal layer.

A plurality of grooves parallel to each other for aligning liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer are formed over a surface of the alignment layer in contact with the liquid crystal layer. A pitch of the grooves is greater than or equal to 10 nm and less than or equal to 600 nm. The alignment layer is formed of a copolymer of an energy curable composition and contains fluorine on the surface.

    摘要: The present disclosure provides a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel and a curved display device. The LCD panel includes: a first substrate; a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer includes a first liquid crystal layer adjacent to the first substrate and a second liquid crystal layer adjacent to the second substrate. Liquid crystal molecules in the first liquid crystal layer have a first pretilt angle relative to the first substrate, liquid crystal molecules in the second liquid crystal layer have a second pretilt angle relative to the second substrate, and the first pretilt angle and the second pretilt angle are not equal.
