The method also comprises applying a coating of rejuvenating oil comprising an amino-functional organopolysiloxane to the reimageable surface layer, whereby at least a portion of the plurality of surface defects are coated by the amino-functional organopolysiloxane, thereby rejuvenating the imaging member.

The image-wise charge stream corresponds to the latent image, which, in turn, leads to image-wise charging of the toner layer, such that the toner layer itself becomes the latent image carrier. The latent image carrying toner layer is subsequently developed and transferred to a copy substrate to produce an output document.

A dry-type toner is temporarily put on a printing paper with electrification by an electrifying unit and a toner supplying unit. A laser diode is driven on the basis of a video signal to emit a laser beam by which the dry-type toner put on the printing paper is melted and fixed thereon. A remaining toner that was not melted on the printing paper is eliminated by a cleaning unit. A printing by the laser beam can be realized most easily without using expensive parts such as a photosensitive material or the like and without increasing its mechanism and circuit scale. A printing apparatus includes a body circuit (4) for producing a driving signal on the basis of a video signal, an electrifying unit (10) and a toner supplying unit (11) for temporarily putting a dry-type toner on a printing paper (5) with electrification, a laser diode (3) being driven by the driving signal from the body circuit (4) to emit a laser beam to melt the dry-type toner put on the printing paper (5) with electrification by the electrifying unit (10) and the toner supplying unit (11) so that the dry-type toner thus melted is fixed on the printing paper (5) and a cleaning unit (9) for eliminating a remaining toner that is not melted on the printing paper (5).

A migration imaging system using a laser-addressable thermoplastic imaging member. The imaging member comprises a supporting section and a thermoplastic imaging surface layer. A charged, uniform layer of marking particles is deposited on the imaging surface layer. An imagewise-modulated laser beam transforms selected volumes of the imaging surface layer in an imagewise pattern to a permeable state. Charged marking particles that superpose a transformed volume then migrate into the imaging surface layer so as to be retained. Unaddressed marking particles are cleaned away. The imaging member, or solely the imaging surface layer, may be transferred and bonded to a receiver such as a drum for use as an exposure mask, or to a receiver sheet to provide a hard copy reproduction. The processed imaging member is usable as a master in a xeroprinting system.
