A light guide receptacle for mounting a plurality of light guides in the interior of a housing part, with a plurality of light bulkheads, is configured to arrange the plurality of light guides, which are mechanically coupled to one another by means of a web, in each case in intermediate spaces between two light bulkheads of the plurality of light bulkheads and to optically decouple spatially adjacent light guides from one another by means of the respective light bulkhead, wherein the plurality of light bulkheads are integrated components of the housing part.

A method for managing communication with a building automation device, the method being performed in a gateway, includes the steps of: receiving a packet from the building automation device; determining that the gateway currently fails to support a communication protocol being compatible with the packet; transmitting the packet to a protocol server; receiving, from the protocol server, executable software instructions to be used for communication over the communication protocol being compatible with the packet; and installing the executable software instructions to provide a capability to communicate over the communication protocol being compatible with the packet.

A wireless terminal for receiving a health report from a wireless communication network comprising a group of network nodes communicating within the wireless communication network using a first communication technology employing a first frequency band includes: a first wireless interface for communicating according to a second communication technology employing a second frequency band; and a terminal control unit for receiving, via the first wireless interface, at least one health report with health data from at least a first node in the group of network nodes triggered by a health report sending condition being fulfilled in the wireless communication network.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, the present invention provides a system for generating a visualization a home or building, including a fieldbus commissioning tool with a template library and a graphical commissioning engine for implementing physical devices of the home or building. The template library includes: a set of device templates and device object templates, which contains information how the devices are used; a set of zone templates, which specify the use of the devices which are available within a zone; a set of automation templates and a set of web templates. The fieldbus commissioning tool is connected with a configuration data input unit and an automation studio, the automation studio being receiving building topology information, which are supplied by the fieldbus commissioning tool. Based on the building topology, the automation studio generates a navigation structure of the building to allow access to different areas of the building.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a temperature of a building using a building thermal model of the building in a model predictive control (MPC) system includes measuring the temperature and a rate of change of temperature for at least one zone that is included in the building thermal model so as to determine an error from a temperature and rate of change of temperature that is predicted by the MPC system. Possible causes of the error and a probability of each of the possible causes of error occurring are determined. An impact of each of the possible causes is evaluated so as to identify at least one of the possible causes which would reduce the error. The building thermal model is adapted based on the at least one identified possible cause and the temperature of the building is controlled using the adapted building thermal model in an MPC controller.

An exemplary power supply system for a direct-current drive includes a power converter for at least one direction-dependent two-quadrant operating mode, at least one associated pulse-based actuation device, an input-side connection and an output-side connection for the power converter, and at least one mechanical interruption device for the input-side connection and/or the output-side connection. The power supply system is provided to continually provide values of a current flowing on the output-side during operation by receiving an STO (safe torque off) signal, immediate changeover of the power converter operating mode into the inverter limitation if an STO signal is received, interrupting a feed of actuation power through the actuation device into the power converter, and supplying an interruption signal to the at least one mechanical interruption device once a second subsequent time interval has elapsed and the current flowing on the output side has not decayed below a safety-critical limit value.

A system for parameterizing field devices of an automation or control system includes a higher-ranking unit, which is connected via a first communication link based on a first field bus protocol to a communication interface module. The module is connected via a second communication link based on a second field bus protocol to at least one field device. In the higher-ranking unit, sub-blocks are generated and stored from a data structure for configuring the field device that is stored in a device description file for the field device. A first network service transmits the parameters of the field device from the higher-ranking unit via the first communication link into a first functionality of the module that operates as a slave function. A further functionality integrated into the module evaluates parameters of the field device that are stored in sub blocks and combines the parameters to form a single configuration block.

A resistive structure has an improved electric field profile deposited on the surface of a cylindrical insulating substrate. At least one resistive path or trace is provided with a helix-looking shape and is directly printed on the surface of the insulating substrate. A resistive voltage divider includes first and second resistors electrically connected in series, where each resistor is made of one or more traces of electrically resistive film material applied onto a cylindrical insulating substrate. At least one of the traces is shaped like a helix and is applied onto the substrate by direct printing.
