    摘要: A storage means access control method for an NC system, which has no adverse effect on the execution of an NC instruction. The NC system has a first storage means and a second storage means having an access time longer than that of the first storage means, and sequentially executes NC instructions in blocks of an NC program stored in the first storage means, block by block. The NC instructions in the blocks of the NC program are previously classified into waitable instructions and unwaitable instructions. When there is a request for access to the second storage means during execution of the NC program, if an NC instruction in an execution block to be executed subsequently is a waitable instruction, access to the second storage means is executed after the NC instruction in the execution block has been executed. If the NC instruction in the execution block is an unwaitable instruction, access to the second storage means is not executed after the NC instruction in the execution block has been executed.

    摘要: A numerical controller which, after once stopping a slave axis during superposing control, can easily resume the superposing control. In the superposing control, a motion amount for a master axis and a motion amount for the slave axis are added to a workpiece coordinate value of the master axis and a workpiece coordinate value of the slave axis, respectively, to update their present position data (I2, II2). These motion amounts are supplied also to servo processing (I3, II3) for the master axis and the slave axis, where an amount obtained by superposing a motion amount nullzIm for the master axis ZIm on a motion amount nullzIIs for the slave axis ZIIs is supplied to the servo processing for the slave axis ZIIs. When a slave axis motion stop command is issued, the motion of the slave axis is stopped and a motion amount nullzIm for the master axis ZIm is subtracted from the workpiece coordinate value of the slave axis ZIIs. This makes it possible to retain the positional relationship between the master axis and the slave axis, and hence easily resume the superposing control when the motion of the slave axis is restarted.

    摘要: A bidirectional communications link, termed a customization window, comprises a series of routines including functions, procedures and status flags implemented in software, interfaced between a machine control logic (MCL) operating to control the auxiliary functions of a computerized numerical control (CNC) system and a numerical control (NC) operating to control the multi-axis motions of the system whereby the MCL, implemented in software, can access the NC, also implemented in software, and control the system but only under conditions dictated by the NC and enforced by the routines of the customization window so that, for example, the integrity of the NC software will not be compromised by any of the MCL software which is of a user programmable type. Additionally, machine setup data and the availability of optional system control features are routed from the NC to the MCL through the customization window. Also the customization window conveys the status of the various operational conditions of the NC to the MCL.
