    摘要: In an embodiment, the controller for machining parts on a work piece positioned on a numerically controllable (NC) machine includes a memory, a display and a plurality of layout processes. A job comprising multiple parts in various quantities is displayed textually as a job list of parts and quantities. The job is also displayed graphically in a scaled layout. In the scaled layout part icons corresponding to each of the parts on the job list are superimposed on a work piece icon in an arrangement corresponding to a physical part layout. Layout processes handle the location of the machine instruction records which correspond to the parts selected for the job. These processes also determine the dimension and scaling of each part icon on the basis of the machine code records for the chosen parts. The processes also handle the scaling of the work piece icon and parts icon on the display in an arrangement corresponding to an actual physical layout for the job. In another embodiment a method for machining parts from a work piece positioned on a numerically controllable (NC) machine is disclosed.

    摘要: A digital control system with a predetermined configuration automatically senses the connection to a network of a digital device that is not included in the predetermined configuration. The digital device is assigned temporary address information and placed in a temporary state, called a standby state, in which the digital device supplies information to the digital control system allowing a user to access the digital device including access of device information and configuration parameters. Using the device information and configuration parameters, a user selectively commissions the digital device by assigning a physical device tag, a device address, and a device identification, and installing a control strategy to the digital device, thereby placing the digital device in an operational state in communication with the digital control system. In the standby state, a user interrogates to determine the type of device that is attached, determines the role of the device in the context of the digital control system, assigns a physical device tag that assigns the determined role to the device, and verifies connection of the device to the network. Also in the standby state, the user initiates other applications applied to the device, including calibration of the device and configuring the device within the overall control scheme of the digital control system.

    摘要: A programming aid for troubleshooting real-time motion control programs controlling servo motors employs a graphical control language in which functionally related groups of instructions are represented by icons displayed on a programming terminal and interconnected by sequence lines to indicate the order of the instruction's execution. The programming terminal receives the address of the instructions being executed and identifies this address to a displayed icon to modify the icon thus indicating the internal operation of the program on a real time basis with little interruption of the control process.

    摘要: A system and method allows visual programming of simultaneous and synchronous machining operations on multi-axis lathes. The system and method accounts for different combinations of simultaneous and synchronized lathe operations on the spindles which can utilize multiple tools. A graphic synchronization icon is assigned to each mode that preferably represents the lathe operation. Appropriate synchronous operations are grouped together in synchronization groups. The system and method are universal since a postprocessor processes the synchronization modes and synchronization groups, and translates them for use with computer programs understood by a particular CNC lathe.
