Further, based on the temperature of the drive unit computed by a computing unit 31 or the temperature computed by a temperature data computing unit 47 or the temperature detected by a temperature detection sensor 49, etc., the proper values of the feed acceleration/deceleration time constants &tgr;r and &tgr;c are computed and output as a ratio with respect to the set and stored initial values &tgr;r0 and &tgr;C0 thereby to control the NC commanded rate. The overheating of the feed axis drive unit is prevented while at the same time improving the machining efficiency.

摘要: A method corrects thermal displacement of a machine tool having a rotational spindle. The method includes detecting a rotation speed of the spindle. A thermal displacement amount of the spindle in the current cycle of execution of a program is estimated by using an arithmetic expression that is based at least on the spindle rotation speed and a thermal displacement amount that has been estimated in the preceding cycle of execution of the program. The estimated thermal displacement amount in the current cycle is used as a correction amount for canceling the thermal displacement of the spindle. Therefore, thermal displacement of a machine tool is corrected with no complicated processes when a spindle rotation speed changes.

摘要: A cold-gas-blow-cooling type machining apparatus including a relative movement device which moves a workpiece and a machining tool relative to each other, and a cold-gas-blow supply device which supplies a cold gas blow to a machining point at which the workpiece is machined by the machining tool. The machining apparatus includes: a workpiece-temperature detecting device which detects a temperature of the workpiece; and a machining-condition control device which controls at least one of the relative movement device and the cold-gas-blow supply device, on the basis of the detected temperature of the workpiece. The machining-condition control device includes a cooling-condition control device which controls the cold-gas-blow supply device so as to control at least one of a temperature and a flow rate of the cold gas blow.

The method also includes initiating capture of heat energy to be stored in one or more heat reservoirs, the heat energy being generated by the one or more computation device based upon the computation workload assignment.

摘要: A compensation system for a computer-controlled machining apparatus having a controller and including a cutting tool and a workpiece holder which are movable relative to one another along preprogrammed path during a machining operation utilizes sensors for gathering information at a preselected stage of a machining operation relating to an actual condition. The controller compares the actual condition to a condition which the program presumes to exist at the preselected stage and alters the program in accordance with detected variations between the actual condition and the assumed condition. Such conditions may be related to process parameters, such as a position, dimension or shape of the cutting tool or workpiece or an environmental temperature associated with the machining operation, and such sensors may be a contact or a non-contact type of sensor or a temperature transducer.

摘要: A compensation system for a computer-controlled machining apparatus having a controller and including a cutting tool and a workpiece holder which are movable relative to one another along a preprogrammed path during a machining operation utilizes a camera and a vision computer for gathering information at a preselected stage of a machining operation relating to the actual shape and size of the cutting edge of the cutting tool and for altering the preprogrammed path in accordance with detected variations between the actual size and shape of the cutting edge and an assumed size and shape of the cutting edge. The camera obtains an image of the cutting tool against a background so that the cutting tool and background possess contrasting light intensities, and the vision computer utilizes the contrasting light intensities of the image to locate points therein which correspond to points along the actual cutting edge. Following a series of computations involving the determining of a tool center from the points identified along the tool edge, the results of the computations are fed to the controller where the preprogrammed path is altered as aforedescribed.
