摘要: The present disclosure relates to a configurable simulator with testing capabilities, comprising a simulation controller and a plurality of configurable modular cards. The simulation controller determines configuration parameters of the cards and exchanges configuration messages with the cards. The simulation controller also receives and processes test notifications from the cards. Each card comprises a configurable input/output unit comprising a plurality of configurable inputs and outputs, and a power supply comprising a plurality of configurable power supply circuits. The input/output unit exchanges configuration messages with the simulation controller and sends the test notification. Each card further comprises a processor for configuring the configurable input/output unit, and the power supply. The processor also executes a simulation code to implement a functionality of the simulator. The processor further tests the input/output unit and the power supply, monitors the execution of the simulation code, and generates the test notification based on test results.

摘要: A vehicle simulator comprising: (i) a real-world vehicle (1) whose controls and instruments are dual-mode such that they can be switched between normal operation and simulated operation; (ii) a retro-reflecting screen (3) which is deployed around and outside windows of a control area (cockpit) of the vehicle (1), which control area is for a person operating the simulator; (iii) an image projector (9) for being mounted on a head or headwear of the operator; (iv) a head position and orientation sensing system (11) mounted on the head or the headwear of the operator; (v) a simulator host computer that receives information from controls of the vehicle (1) and sends information to the controls and to instruments of the vehicle (1) when the vehicle (1) is in a simulation mode; and (vi) an image generator computer (8) that receives data from the simulator host computer regarding the vehicle's simulated position and orientation and that also receives data from the head position and orientation sensing system (11) regarding the operator's head position and orientation, and that sends a computed image to the image projector (9).

An output information collecting device 3 is provided with a conveyance model 20 which operates according to the operation information accepted from outside. The conveyance model 20 comprises a television camera 30 which shoots the surrounding scenery and a accelerometer 40 which detects the acceleration. A simulator body 4 is provided with a cockpit device 50, a driving section 70 which changes the cockpit device, and an output section 220 which displays the picture shot by the television camera 30. The cockpit device 50 includes an input section for operating, 60, which accepts the operation information to operate the conveyance model 20. A driving section 70 changes the cockpit device 50 based on the information of acceleration informed by the accelerometer 40.

摘要: A system for simulating own ship sensor outputs for submarine trainers is ovided. The system comprises of five personal computer systems operating together. These computers are interconnected such that the individual computers can exchange data and function as one integrated unit. The system provides sensor output to an external trainer through multiple STANAG, NTDS, DIGITAL.TM. I/O, and DIGITAL-SYNCHRO.TM. I/O cards. The system also accepts trainer inputs on these lines. Software modules on the personal computer systems allow the operator to configure and monitor the sensor systems as well as providing processing of inputs received at multiple sources to generate a coherent output signal.

摘要: A visual simulator for obtaining the illusion of control presence in a remotely controlled vehicle comprises two television camera systems which are coupled to a cathode ray tube display carried by the head gear of the operator of the remote controlled vehicle. A video mixer or switch combines the images recorded by the two television camera systems into a single display. A position sensor attached to the helmet worn by the operator is connected to the video mixer to control the position of the scenes recorded by the two television camera systems on the cathode ray tube display.

摘要: A training simulator for a submarine periscope comprises an outwardly normal viewing station at eye-level mounted on a hollow support column from the floor. A hollow periscope tube, containing a television monitor, extends from the viewing station towards the floor within the support column. A false bulkhead and periscope tube extend to the ceiling of the room to complete the outward appearance of a periscope. The internal components of the viewing station are arranged so as to observe the screen of the television monitor, and the scene displayed thereon is shifted in accordance with rotation of the viewing station and operation of its controls.

摘要: A navigation training simulator in which a model, representing a full scale vehicle, operates in a medium representing that in which the full scale vehicle operates, and a student remotely controls the model from a control station representing the control station of the full scale vehicle. A visual representation of navigational objects external to the model is presented to the student at the control station as they would appear to him if he were at the control station on the model. Means may be provided to permit an instructor to apply to the model forces representing wind, tide and other natural forces experienced by the full scale vehicle.
