The noise reduction apparatus applies optimal amplitude weighting values to a subset of the stored data words and adds these weighted values together to provide a new single value which is used for the output signal.

    摘要: In a computor organ, musical tones are generated by separately evaluating the constituent Fourier components of a musical waveshape and summing these to obtain the waveshape sample point amplitudes. The relative amplitude contribution of each Fourier component is established by a harmonic coefficient. In accordance with the present invention, pulse-type tone generation is simulated by using harmonic coefficient values associated with the frequency spectrum of a pulse train of particular pulse shape. For example, the coefficients may be given by the Fourier transform associated with repetitive pulses.To simulate pulse width modulation effects, a set of such coefficients is stored in a memory, the set having more coefficients than the maximum number of Fourier components included in each amplitude computation. Pulse trains of different pulse width are simulated by utilizing different subsets of the stored coefficients in the amplitude computation. Pulse width modulation tonal effects are achieved by changing the selected subsets as a function of time.

    摘要: A keyboard operated electronic musical instrument is disclosed which has a number of tone generators that are assigned to actuated keyswitches. Musical tones are produced by computing a master data set which defines the data points corresponding to a period of a musical waveshape. The master data set points are read out sequentially and repetitively from a memory and converted into an audible musical tone. Circuitry is provided whereby the master data set is computed from a time sequence of harmonic coefficients which is modulated to produce a musical tone having a time variant spectra.

    摘要: In a musical tone synthesizer in which an amplitude-modulated carrier wave delivered from an amplitude modulator is used to form a musical tone signal, the amplitude-modulated carrier wave is fed back to the input side of the amplitude modulator as a modulation signal, a portion thereof, a portion of a carrier wave or a composite signal of the modulation signal and the carrier wave. The amount of feedback may be controlled by multiplying the amplitude-modulated carrier wave with a predetermined modulation index. Furthermore, the modulation index may be charged with time so that the control of spectrum construction of the musical tone signal is readily performed. According to a modified embodiment, a plurality of amplitude-modulators are provided which are connected in a ring form feedback loop in which the modulated outputs of preceding amplitude modulators are supplied respectively to succeeding amplitude modulators.

    摘要: In a musical instrument in which a plurality of data words corresponding to the amplitudes of a corresponding number of evenly spaced points defined a cycle of an audio waveform are transformed at an average rate proportional to the pitch of the tone being generated, a frequency generator is provided using a single master clock source for selectively producing the entire range of musical notes. A non-integer frequency generator is implemented which periodically adds a frequency number, corresponding to an actuated keyswitch, to itself in an adder-accumulator. Overflow pulses from the adder-accumulator address out a set of waveshape values stored in a memory. The noise produced by the unequally spaced overflow pulses is reduced by applying optimal amplitude weighting values to the output waveshape values and then adding the weighted values to provide a single value which is converted to an analog signal and furnished as the musical signal.

    摘要: A method for producing a tone waveform having a desired spectral construction by modulating an input address signal of a selected frequency for a waveform memory. For the modulation of the input address signal, the output of the waveform memory is multiplied by a parameter .beta. of a suitable value and the multiplication product is added to the input address signal. If the input address varies in the manner of, for example, a saw-tooth wave, a desired tone waveform can be produced within a range between a saw-tooth wave and a sinusoidal wave by selecting a suitable value of the parameter .beta.. More specifically, a saw-tooth wave is produced as a tone wave form if a sufficiently large value of .beta. is selected. As .beta. is gradually decreased, the amplitude is decreased from a higher order and the amplitude also disappears from a higher order until the tone waveform becomes a sinusoidal wave when .beta. is zero. The waveform memory having its input address modulated in the above described manner is used not only for directly producing a desired tone waveform but for modulating an input address of another waveform memory. In the latter case, a tone waveform is produced by the other waveform memory.
