The altitude of the five even number buttons 0,2,4,6 and 8 is higher than the altitude of the other buttons 1,3,7,9, * and #. On the upper, lower, right and left side of the central button 5, provides a feeling mark, so that as the user touch the central button and the higher buttons with his thumb, the position of every button can be identified. Remote control can be carried out without watching at the button. This is suitable for various remote controls such as a TV set, cellular phone and remote control of a car.

The soft tactile urethane membrane structures provide raised key tip contact means which permit keyboard operation by feel of the keyboard. The urethane plastic membrane structures, when compressed, activate respective membrane switches in an electrical control circuit.

Switches to control the signals include at least one dome protruding through the housing for initiating transmission of a signal. The first element protrudes from the housing to a different height than the second element. Thus, the elements can be easily actuated separately from each other.

By making the long-stroke rocker key assemblies with forked levers in which keys of adjacent long-stroke rocker key assemblies are positioned, the keyboard can be adapted to meet customers desires with less expense.

A key switch adapted to raise or lower a key top according to need is disclosed. The key switch includes a key top, a link assembly comprised of two link members and operatively connected to the key top, which is retracted by a pressure on the key top and extended by release of the pressure and which has an elastic member at its lower end, an FPC placed on a frame of a keyboard to recognize pressing of the key top, and a plate movably placed on the FPC, to which a lower end of one of the link members is connected, and which has an elastic supporting member being in contact with the elastic member of the link assembly. When the key top is pressed down, the link assembly is retracted while compressing the elastic member of the link assembly and the elastic supporting member of the plate. When the link assembly is further lowered, an elastic resistance of the elastic supporting member is suddenly increased, and thus the elastic member of the first link member is suddenly bent and quickly lowered, thereby affording a click sense to a user and enabling the bent portion of the elastic member to press the FPC.
