    摘要: An electron beam focusing device for use in a cathode ray tube (CRT) including a first and a second conductor film each formed on the inner surface of a neck portion of the CRT, which are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance, and a resistive conductor film which connects the first and second conductor films with each other. The first conductor film is located before the second conductor film in a beam travelling direction. The additional conductor film has a higher resistivity than that of the first and second conductor films. The first conductor film is set at a higher potential than the second conductor film. A dark current flowing from a high potential side through the first conductor film, the resistive conductor film and the second conductor film produces a voltage drop across the resistive conductor film so that the surface potential of the resistive conductor film is stabilized, thus forming an electrostatic lens with a stabilized electric field.

    摘要: The disclosure depicts in a television cathode ray tube having a getter containing a vaporizable, electrically conductive, gas adsorptive getter material, an improvement comprising an electrically resistive element for arc suppression, an electrically resistive element for arc suppression, internal voltage division, static elimination, RC signal coupling or the like. The resistive element is composed of a high resistivity material compatible with a clean, high-vacuum environment. The element is so widely and deeply cavitated and contorted at and below its nominal surface that the real surface of the element is shadowed and very greatly extended in area relative to the nominal surface of the element. The effect of this is that when the getter is flashed, the coating of conductive getter material deposited on the element is effectively dispersed and fragmented into isolated conductive islands. The result is to render tolerably insignificant the tendency of arc currents to travel over the surface of the element and thereby by-pass the body of the element.

    摘要: A cathode ray tube having a glass envelope with a conductive layer covering a portion of the inner surface of the envelope. The major part of the surface covered by the conductive layer is relatively rough to obtain good adhesion of the conductive layer. An electrode within the tube is connected electrically to the conductive layer by a contact spring that presses against a limited region of the conductive layer. The area of the glass surface that is directly behind this limited region is made sufficiently smooth to prevent the contact spring from being held out of engagement with the conductive layer by glass protuberances projecting through the conductive layer and causing arcing between the contact spring and adjacent areas of the conductive layer.

    摘要: Internal arcing in a cathode ray tube is substantially prevented by coating a portion of the interior of the funnel and neck of the tube with an electrically conductive composition, and coating a portion of the interior of the funnel and neck of the tube with an electrically resistive composition. The electrically conductive composition comprises about 10-30 weight percent iron and about 90-70 weight percent of a glass frit. The electrically resistive composition comprises about 8-24 weight percent iron, about 2-8 weight percent TiO.sub.2 and about 90-68 weight percent glass frit. The use of conventional "dag" coatings is eliminated. The cathode ray tube is especially useful as a picture tube in a color television receiver in which high operating voltages are employed.
