摘要: The disclosed embodiments include downhole gamma-ray generators and methods to utilize downhole gamma-ray generators in a downhole environment. In one embodiment, a downhole gamma-ray generator includes a target foil formed from a first material. The downhole gamma-ray generator also includes a second layer deposited along a back surface of the target foil. The downhole gamma-ray generator further includes a laser system operable to direct optical pulses onto a front surface of the target foil to ionize atoms of the first material, where electrons produced by ionization of the first material propagate through the target foil and decelerates when the electrons interact with the high density material, and where the deceleration of the electrons produces gamma-rays that are utilized to obtain one or more formation properties of a downhole formation.

As viewed from a direction perpendicular to a plane containing the three points, an extension of an entrance optical axis of a laser beam to an amplifying apparatus or an extension of an exit optical axis from the amplifying apparatus is oriented to the point with the zero degree of freedom. A translational direction of the point with the one degree of freedom is oriented to the point with the zero degree of freedom. One of the extension of the entrance optical axis and the extension of the exist optical axis passes on a side closer to the point with the two degrees of freedom with respect to a side of the point with the one degree of freedom.

摘要: Techniques and architecture are disclosed for managing alkali vapor concentration in a lasing gas at non-condensing levels. In some instances, the disclosed techniques/architecture can be used to control and/or stabilize the concentration of alkali vapor in a lasing gas volume to any desired fraction of its saturation value under dynamically changing thermal loads. In some such instances, the concentration of alkali vapor in a given lasing gas volume can be maintained at a value which is sufficiently far from the saturation point to prevent or otherwise reduce condensation of the alkali vapor, for example, upon accelerating the lasing gas through a pressure drop into an optical pumping cavity of an alkali vapor laser system (e.g., such as a diode-pumped alkali laser, or DPAL, system). In some instances, the disclosed techniques/architecture can be used to establish a temperature gradient and/or an alkali vapor concentration gradient in the flowing lasing gas volume.

摘要: Laser device comprising at least two gas laser units (10), stacked in layers, each laser unit comprising a plurality of resonator tubes (12), the resonator tubes being in fluidic communication with each other and forming a common tubular space, connecting elements (20, 21) for connecting adjacent resonator tubes so as to form a loop, mirrors (22) arranged in the connecting elements for reflecting the laser light between the resonator tubes, a rear mirror (44) and a partially reflecting output coupler (42) for coupling out a laser beam. In each laser unit an integrated output flange (40) comprises the rear mirror, the partially reflecting output coupler and an output mirror (46) which deflects the laser beam passing through the output coupler to a scanning device (80) located in the central space (8) surrounded by the resonator tubes. The invention also relates to a method for marking an object.

The laser oscillator includes a controller, laser medium flow path, resonator part, blower, pressure detecting part, laser medium supply-exhaust part, and temporary stop command part. The controller controls the resonator part to stop to generate laser light if a temporary stop is commanded, controls the blower 18 to slow the rotational speed of the blower from the first rotational speed to the second rotational speed, and controls the laser medium supply-exhaust part so that the pressure is the second target value lower than the pressure at the time when the rotational speed of the blower is the second rotational speed.

摘要: A laser oscillator according to this invention includes a resonator unit, heat exchangers, fans, a resonator temperature measuring unit, and a fan control unit. The resonator unit resonates a laser beam to be output. The heat exchangers are arranged adjacent to the resonator unit and are to be supplied with a cooling liquid. The fans are arranged at least at one of two opposite positions across both the resonator unit and the heat exchangers and generate airflow in one direction, which passes through both the resonator unit and the heat exchangers. The resonator temperature measuring unit measures the temperature of the resonator unit. The fan control unit controls the fans. The fan control unit switches the direction in which air is blown by the fans, based on the temperature of the resonator unit.

The control unit includes a controller that stops base discharge of the laser oscillator at a time when a specified time has elapsed from a stop of laser light emission by the laser oscillator. According to the laser machine, since base discharge of the laser oscillator is stopped after the specified time has elapsed from the stop of laser light emission, wasteful energy (power) consumption of the laser oscillator in a standby state can be restricted.
