    摘要: An image scanning apparatus performs operations including: upon detection of a first angle, causing light to be emitted to an original and recording a distribution of reflected light of the emitted light as first read data; upon elapse of a predetermined time from detection of a second angle, causing light to be emitted to the original and recording a distribution of reflected light of the emitted light as second read data; detecting a closed state of a pressure plate based on the second read data; and upon determination of an angle of the pressure plate with respect to the platen being equal to or smaller than a third angle smaller than the second angle in the detection of the closed state, detecting a width of the original in an opening-closing direction of the pressure plate based on a difference between the first and second read data.

    摘要: In an image-reading device, a reading unit reads an object. An edge image generation generates a plurality of sets of edge image data respectively corresponding to a plurality of target lines. The plurality of sets of edge image data includes a first set of edge image data corresponding to a first target line. A mask setting unit determines whether an edge pixel is included in the first set of edge image data. When the edge pixel is included in the first set of edge image data, the mask setting unit sets a mask region on the image. The mask region includes a part of the plurality of lines based on the first target line. An edge detection unit detects the edge pixel detects a positional coordinate of the edge pixel from among pixels in the plurality of sets of edge image data outside the mask region.

    摘要: Pixel circuits in an image sensor are sampled repetitively during an image frame period. At each sampling, a signal indicative of the photocharge integrated by a pixel circuit since last reset is compared to a threshold. If the integrated photocharge signal has not reached the threshold, the pixel circuit is permitted to continue integrating photocharge. If the integrated photocharge signal has reached the threshold, the pixel circuit is reset to remove integrated photocharge and photocharge integration for that pixel circuit is restarted. A corresponding pixel circuit value is recorded for the reset pixel circuit.

The storing unit stores attribute information of sheets to be stored in sheet holding units. The determining unit determines whether attribute information of sheets to be used by a job corresponds to the stored sheet attribute information. The first notification unit notifies, in a case where the determining unit determines that the attribute information does not correspond, a user that the attribute information does not correspond to the sheet attribute information. The selection unit selects the stored sheet attribute information to change the attribute information of sheets to be used by the job. The second notification unit notifies, in accordance with selection of the sheet attribute information, the user that the attribute information of sheets to be used by the job corresponds to the stored sheet attribute information.

    摘要: It is an object to provide an image processing apparatus which can properly obtain an original area even when there is one original or when there are a plurality of originals, an image processing method, and a recording medium in which an image processing program has been recorded. An image processing apparatus for deciding an image data area of an original from read image data obtained by being read by an image reading apparatus has: an extracting unit for extracting a plurality of image areas from the read image data; and a discriminating unit for discriminating whether or not tilt angles of the image areas extracted by the extracting unit are equal. If one or more tile angles of the image areas are not equal as a result of the discrimination by the discriminating unit, it is determined that each of the image areas is an image data area of the original on the assumption that there are a plurality of originals.

    摘要: A printing apparatus capable of detecting a number of different paper sizes includes a main body, an input device, a paper guide, a rack member, and a detector. The main body prints on paper; the input device contains the paper; the paper guide moves to fit two sides of the paper; the rack member moves simultaneously with the paper guide, and includes at least one identifier; each identifier corresponding to one of the different paper sizes. The detector detects the identifier to determine one of the different paper sizes and transmits the determined paper size to the main body, and the main body compares the determined paper size with a print setup. The main body reminds a user when the determined paper size does not conform to the print setup.
