    摘要: A method and apparatus for occlusion area detection based on block difference associated with a motion vector and a predicted block difference are disclosed. For each current block of a frame, motion estimation is performed based on a temporally previous frame and a temporally subsequent frame. Based on the motion vector derived, two reference blocks of the current block are located in the temporally neighboring frames. The block difference between these two reference blocks is calculated for the current block. By comparing the block difference with a predicted block difference of the current block, the current block is determined to be an occlusion block or not accordingly. The predicted block difference is updated by averaging the block difference of neighboring blocks in a non-motion boundary area.

The pixel interpolation method includes performing up-sampling upon the target picture for generating an up-sampled picture corresponding to the target picture, and interpolating the target pixel according to the up-sampled picture. The step of performing up-sampling upon the target picture includes interpolating and generating a third pixel in between a first pixel and a second pixel that are a pair of two adjacent pixels of each pixel line of the target picture, whereof a pixel value of the third pixel is an average of pixel values of the first pixel and the second pixel.

    摘要: A system and method for motion adaptively filtering a de-interlaced video signal. This motion adaptive filtering may be accomplished by using a motion value determined during motion adaptive de-interlacing. The motion value may be used to adjust the amount of filtering to be applied to the de-interlaced signal. Edges in the signal representing motion my be filtered more than static regions. A pixel by pixel difference between multiple signal frames, calculated during motion adaptive de-interlacing, may be used to determine the motion value. A motion adaptive filter may be implemented either separately from the motion adaptive de-interlacer or incorporated as part of the motion adaptive de-interlacer.
