    摘要: In order to provide a hand-guided machine, which is partially or completely used at low ambient temperatures, with a heating arrangement of the handles, comprising an AC source, an analysis electronic system, at least one temperature sensor connected to the analysis electronic system and at least one electrical heating element supplied with power from the AC source, with which heating of handles of hand-guided machines is possible and which avoids the disadvantages of known handle heaters and particularly relieves the operator in his work activity as well as providing an ergonomically favorable working environment, so that work accidents and occupational illnesses are avoided, it is suggested that the output of the at least one electrical heating element be switched and regulated by an electronic component, controlled by the analysis electronic system, in the form of transistors, IGBTs, GTOs, thyristors, or TRIACs.

    摘要: A window burner for creating windows by selective removal of polymer type coatings from capillary columns and very small diameter tubes. The burner includes an electric circuit which provides a predetermined, controlled current from a standard 120 or 220 volt AC outlet. The predetermined, controlled current electrically heats a resistive wire for a predetermined period of time. The resistive wire may have a predetermined configuration to facilitate mounting of the capillary column for selective burning. The size of the resistive wire and the predetermined period of time during which the predetermined, controlled current is provided thereto are factors determining the size of the window formed by selectively burning off the polymer coating.

    摘要: A hand manipulated electrically heated stylus tool for transferring insignia to an article from a ribbon or sheet having a coating on one face thereof subject to release and transfer to an article to be printed which operates on a 115 volt power supply without use of a voltage reducing transformer or temperature control means. The tool includes an aluminum mandrel with a surrounding sleeve of heat shrinkable Teflon on which a heating element of high resistance insulated wire is wound so that the sleeve provides back-up insulation between the wire and mandrel. The mandrel is provided with a bore which receives the tip portion of a conventional ball point pen, thus forming a heated stylus. The heated stylus assembly is disposed within a hollow frusto-conical support and is secured therein by a hardenable mixture forming heat insulation between the assembly and the support. As compared with a slidable stylus tip, the device operates smoother and with less pressure thus facilitating holding the ribbon in place on an article. The molded frusto-conical mandrel support and the potting cement therein also provides improved heat insulation resulting in a hotter stylus tip and cooler handle.

    摘要: A hand manipulated electrically heated stylus tool for transferring insignia to an article from a ribbon or sheet having a coating on one face thereof subject to release and transfer to an article to be printed operates on a 115 volt power supply without use of a voltage reducing transformer or temperature control means. The tool includes an aluminum stylus having a first portion enclosed in a low thermal conductivity support carried at the end of a handle and a second portion projecting from the support to terminate in a work contacting tip. The entire outer surface of the stylus is anodized to form a hard wear resistant electrically insulative layer thereon. A heating element formed from electrically insulated resistance wire is coiled about the first portion of the stylus with the insulation thereon abutting the anodized layer. The arrangement is such that the anodized layer acts as a back-up insulation between the heating element and stylus to prevent short circuiting of the heating element should the insulation on the resistance wire fail. Additionally, in the further event of the breakdown of the anodized layer about the first portion of the stylus, the operator is protected by reason of the electrical insulation afforded by the intact anodized layer covering the exposed second portion of the stylus.
