A method of stabilizing soil and reinforcing vegetation comprises the steps of placing a three-dimensional, high-profile woven fabric into soil, wherein the fabric comprises two sets of multi-lobe filament yarns interwoven in substantially perpendicular direction to each other, each of the multi-lobe filament yarns having pre-determined, different heat shrinkage characteristics such that, upon heating, the fabric forms a three-dimensional, cuspated profile; securing the fabric to the ground; and, distributing soil and seed onto the fabric such that the section of ground is quickly revegetated and thereby protected from further erosion.

摘要： A planar, biaxially heat-shrinkable, plastics mesh layer is fixed to a planar, relatively non-heat-shrinkable plastics mesh layer at zones which are spaced apart on a generally square grid, and the structure so formed is heated to cause the shrink layer to shrink biaxially and thereby cause the non-shrink layer to assume a cuspated configuration. The structure can be shipped as a semi-finished product after fixing the layers together and before heating, thereby reducing bulk and hence shipping costs.

摘要： A porous, reinforced, erosion control matting is provided by a relatively open, self-supporting, three-dimensionally looped structure of synthetic filaments having a diameter of at least 0.06 mm., with a backing of a decay-resistant or rot-resistant, comparatively dense web or fabric which is bonded to at least some of the filaments of the matting, and with a lattice or open-mesh reinforcing facing member extending parallel to the backing to provide an upper surface of crossbars onto which the looped synthetic filaments are laid so as to be interlocked with the crossbars while extending downwardly between the crossbars to form porous alveolate cells. The matting is highly useful in preventing soil erosion while also being easily manufactured and installed in any given location.

Erosion of the soil is thereby prevented or at least significantly reduced. The network is preferably formed from a tow of artificial or synthetic textiles in the form of continuous threads which are separated first into locks which are fixedly positioned in the ground and then the locks are separated or opened to form a regular or irregular open network.Application of the non-woven network for fixing the surface soil of sandy zones prevents erosion and improves the planting and development of vegetation and crops.
