    摘要: The method for preventing and controlling glacial lake outbreak flood and related debris flows by the present invention is mainly controlling the scale of the floods by separating water and rocks and dispersing its energy step by step. The cascading amplification effects of floods can be reduced by controlling the initiation of source material with energy dissipation by using ground sills, groups of piles, and placed large stones and prefabricated artificial structures. The diversion dam built in the downstream area discharge floods in different layers, which can quickly guide water to the main river. The preconstructed engineering system can be used in a timely manner to prevent and control floods and debris flows induced by a sudden outburst of glacial lakes in areas with important facilities and inhabitants enduring the risk of natural hazards. Prevention and control systems can separate floods and debris flows and dissipate their energy. The groups of ground sills and check dams gradually dissipate the energy of floods, prevent high-energy boulders, and control the initiation of source materials in the channel and bank. Moreover, the systems can also separate the water and rocks in dilute debris flows or debris flows with high bulk densities but low viscosities. The diversion dams also enhance the separation function and keep the flood and debris flow discharge in the lower and upper channel to the main river.

    摘要: The invention relates to a flood control device with direct sensing and control. The flood control device consists of a float which is connected with a flood barrier sheet and the flood barrier sheet will be pulled up by the float according to the flood water level. The flood barrier sheet is fixed at the support frame by having flaps. The flaps are filled by compressed air. The flood barrier sheet has a rounded ball shape protruding edge at four sides of the sheet which will be fully secured from slip out due to the pressure exerted from the flood water by compressed air filled flaps. The flood control device is anchored onto the ground by having a shaft (which is inserted into the hole of the bottom piece through a hard rubber ring at shaft end and groove at the bottom piece). A stand is anchored onto the ground and connected to the support frame of the flood control device with metal structure to prevent from collapsing due to force from the flood water.

    摘要: Slurry walls and methods of using those slurry walls to seal unlined solar ponds are provided. The slurry walls are formed from a mixture comprising clay and cement in water. A trench is keyed into the dike surrounding the solar pond, down to a geotechnically predetermined level. The slurry is deposited into the trench and allowed to harden, after which it is covered with a membrane or other covering. The inventive slurry walls reduce, and preferably prevent, leakage of water from the solar pond.

    摘要: A roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam is formed from inverted T-shape face panels to produce a lower sloped profile and L-shape face panel to produce an upper vertical profile. The face panels have drain openings in their penetrating legs to communicate with drain fill lifts placed against the vertical rise of the face panels. RCC lifts are placed on the penetrating legs to lock the placement of these face panels. The drain openings provide terminal drainage for lift line seepage. The inverted T-shape face panel has both a protruding leg and a penetrating leg projecting into the RCC lift. The protruding leg is provided with a dowel for gripping and alignment that permits raising and lowering of the face panel and is received within a sleeve in the face panel therebelow.
