    摘要: A solar heat exchange system is disclosed which includes a header or manifold conduit which includes multiple radially disposed apertures therein. A flexible elastomeric mat which includes multiple elongate tubular elements is then mated to the conduit. Each tubular element includes an exterior wall having an octagonal cross-section such that multiple longitudinally disposed flat surfaces are provided, each capable of reflecting non-absorbed solar radiation onto an adjacent tubular element, greatly enhancing the heating efficiency of a solar heat exchange system utilizing this mat. In an alternate embodiment of the mat each tubular element includes an exterior wall having an octagonal cross section and one or more of the upper surfaces of the octagonal cross section include a number of mutually perpendicular facets, such that solar radiation reflected from each facet is reflected onto an adjacent facet.

With this arrangement, the heat losses caused by convection, radiation and conduction can be suppressed at the same time.

    摘要: A solar heat collector, wherein an absorber plate is mounted in a box member provided on the upper surface thereof with a transparent sheet. The surface of the absorber plate is subjected to a selective absorption surface treatment, and a transparent heat trap is bent into continuous V-shapes and disposed between the transparent sheet and the absorber plate. The transparent heat trap is formed of an ethylene fluoride series resin film having a film thickness of 1 to 100 .mu.m, having a degree of crystallinity of 35 to 55% and being transparent for the infrared rays as well as for the solar rays. With this arrangement, heat losses due to convection, radiation and conduction are suppressed at the same time, so that a high heat collecting efficiency can be secured.

    摘要: A solar collector is designed for use in the window opening of a house and also serves to retain the window function for the occupants of the house. The collector has a rectangular frame having an inner pane of glass, an outer pane or panes and a plurality of rotatable louvers mounted in the frame between the inner and outer panes. The louvers have a reflective material on one side and a dark or solar absorbing surface on the other, thereby allowing the proper side to be rotated into position depending on the season. A heated chamber is provided within the louvers so that the working fluid may flow directly through the louvers and allow the heat transfer to occur therein.

    摘要: An improved apparatus and method for absorbing solar energy, the apparatus providing a sealed envelope having a transparent upper panel with a solar energy absorbing panel thermally isolated against convective and conductive heat losses by a partial vacuum in the sealed envelope. The transparent panel has an upwardly extending curvilinear surface which increases its strength characteristics against the pressure differential between the ambient and the partial vacuum inside the envelope. Support structure is also provided in conjunction with the apparatus to place the periphery of the transparent panel under constriction to compensate for tensile stresses imposed thereon by the pressure differential. The inside surface of the transparent panel and the absorber panel are selectively coated with an infrared reflective surface to reflect and reduce losses of infrared radiation emitted by the absorber panel.

The dark side or second face of the solar boiler is indirectly heated through a metallic plate which is in conductive engagement with the second face of the boiler, extends beyond at least one of the side edges of the boiler, and has a radiation absorptive material on an extension portion of the plate facing the sun. In an alternative embodiment, the second face of the boiler is heated by use of a second solar boiler which is disposed in laterally spaced relation to the first boiler to provide a heated liquid which is circulated past the second face of the first boiler.
