    摘要: A heat exchanger includes a pair of header pipes, tubes disposed between the header pipes, and radiation fins provided along the tubes. Each of the header pipes has a plurality of connection holes for the tubes. Each of the header pipes is formed by bending a longitudinal flat plate in the form of a pipe and connecting the side edge portions of the bent plate to each other. The side edge portions of the bent longitudinal plate have connecting portions which are connected to each other with a junction area larger than the cross-sectional area defined by the thickness and length of each header pipe at a position other than the side edge portions. The connection holes are processed before the longitudinal flat plate is bent, and therefore, can be easily and precisely formed at desired positions. The manufacture of the heat exchanger can be simplified and the cost for the manufacture can be reduced. The connection strength of the side edge portions can be increased by the larger connection area of the connecting portions. The strength of the header pipe can be maintained over a long period of time.

    摘要: The heat exchanger according to the invention comprises extremely flat oval-shaped tubes (3) extending in a mutually parallel and spaced-apart relationship and are connected on their narrow side to manifold pipes (1,2) for forward and return flow. To ensure a sufficiently stable mechanical connection between the pipes and a satisfactory supply and discharge of the heating medium from the manifolds to the flat tubes as well as in the reverse direction, a trough (5) is formed by material removal in the manifold pipes (1a, 2a) thus creating a connection aperture (6) in the wall of the pipe. The flat tube (3a) is fitted into this trough (5) with its rim on the narrow side, to ensure a solid stable welded joint between the pipes. The flat tube (3a) is provided on its narrow side with a bore serving as a connection aperture (7), which comes to lie centrally against the connection aperture (6) in the manifold (1a, 2a). A trough in the flat tube and a bore in the manifold pipe or a respective trough in the manifold pipe and in the flat tube could be developed as alternatives.

    摘要: An automotive heat exchanger of the parallel flow type includes a number of flat tubes (4), a number of corrugated fins (5), with the flat tubes and the corrugated fins being stacked alternately, the first cylindrical header tank (2) to which the tubes are connected by inserting one end thereof laterally into the first header tank, and the second cylindrical header tank (3) to which the tubes are connected by inserting the other end thereof laterally into the second header tank. The ends of each tube inserted laterally into the header tanks are cut off along the inner peripheral surfaces of the header tanks, thus minimizing the obstruction of flow in the headers. The header tanks may be made substantially elliptical.
