    Abstract: A venting device for a hydraulic control unit, designed as a diaphragm in a bore in the control unit, so that collected air can escape, via the diaphragm, to outside the housing. A membrane, which is permeable to air and oil when under pressure, closes the diaphragm bore with respect to the outside. The housing bore and the diaphragm form an inside space that can be vented, via the membrane. The inside space being delimited, during operation, by the diaphragm and an oil column which passes from the control unit into the housing bore and is continually maintained at a defined pressure at which oil, in the housing bore, either does not pass through the membrane or only a minute amount passes therethrough. The oil column remains in the housing bore so that only air, contained in the oil, is vented to the outside without any air being drawn into the control unit from outside.

    Abstract: A valve assembly for a fuel tank includes a housing. A membrane supported by the housing such that the membrane covers a vapor passage defined by the housing. The membrane allows the passage of vapor through the membrane and prevents the passage of liquid through the membrane. A flow control feature is supported by the housing to assist in controlling flow of a vapor through the membrane and the vapor passage. The flow control feature assists in controlling flow by one of shielding liquid from the membrane and providing variable flow through the vapor passage.

    Abstract: A method and system are provided for an integrated fluid and vapor delivery system design that optimizes vapor delivery. The method and system utilize a purgeable valve assembly which is closely coupled to a vaporizer. The purgeable valve assembly includes a liquid control valve and a purge gas valve which are connected by an outlet to the vaporizer in a manner minimizing the dead volume of the liquid supplied to the vaporizer. The system does not require the liquid precursor to be subjected to vacuum prior to entry into the vaporizer.

    Abstract: A breather for a driveline component such as an axle, for example, includes a rigid body portion attached to an axle housing, an extension portion attached to the rigid body portion and extending into a housing cavity, and a conical spring supported by the extension portion. The rigid body portion has an internal bore that extends from a first body end to a second body end with the first body end extending outwardly from the axle housing and the second body end being fixed to the axle housing. The extension portion has a non-uniform cross-sectional area, and includes an extension bore with a large internal diameter. The conical spring is received within the extension bore and cooperates with the extension to prevent lubricating fluid from exiting the breather while still allowing air to vent through the breather as needed.

    Abstract: A fuel vapor vent valve assembly is provided that may include a float valve and an isolation valve arranged in series with each other. Bypass openings in the valve assembly create multiple flow paths as the float valve and the isolation valve respond to changes in fuel tank pressure and fuel level. The control valve assembly may include a housing defining a chamber with a main opening configured to open the chamber to the tank, a vapor vent passage and a first bypass vent opening. A float in the chamber closes the vapor vent passage when fuel in the chamber is at or above a predetermined level. The first bypass vent opening vents the tank to the chamber even when the fuel covers the main opening. A feature on the float provides a metered opening of the vapor vent passage between closed and fully open based on float position.

    Abstract: A cartridge connectable to a fuel cell is disclosed. The cartridge comprises an outer casing and an inner flexible liner containing fuel for the fuel cell. The inner flexible liner may have an insert disposed inside the inner liner to facilitate the transport of fuel from the cartridge to the fuel cell. The insert minimizes the fuel that is trapped within the cartridge. The inner flexible liner can be used without the outer casing. The outer casing can be substantially rigid or flexible. The cartridge is also adaptable to receive byproducts from the fuel cell. The cartridge can also be pressurized to push fuel to the fuel cell. Unidirectional relief valves are also disclosed to prevent internal pressure in the cartridge from becoming too high or too low.

    Abstract: A cut valve with a check valve includes a body case, a cap member, positive and negative pressure valves, and first and second springs. The body case defines a vent hole. The cap member is fitted to an upper portion of the body case. The positive pressure valve is made of resin, defines an opening part, and is disposed to be contactable with and separable from the vent hole from above. The first spring is disposed on the positive pressure valve and presses the positive pressure valve in a direction in which the positive pressure valve closes the vent hole. The negative pressure valve is made of resin and is disposed to be contactable with and separable from the opening part from below. The second spring presses the negative pressure valve in a direction in which the negative pressure valve closes the opening part.

    Abstract: A release valve is disclosed which in one embodiment includes a housing having a passageway extending therethrough and defining an inlet and an outlet, and a membrane extending across the passageway between the inlet and the outlet. The membrane is operable to permit passage through the passageway of gas at a first pressure, inhibit passage through the passageway of liquid at the first pressure, and permit passage of liquid at a second pressure greater than the first pressure. The release valve may also include a check valve for inhibiting passage of gas from the outlet to the inlet. The release valve is suitably employed in fuel cell systems such as in a cooling system thereof.
